The Crowbar is a scrapped melee weapon for Team Fortress 2. It is likely that—just as in Team Fortress Classic—the Crowbar was intended to be the standard melee weapon for all classes but was scrapped when it was decided that each class would possess individual melee weapons. This hypothesis is reinforced by the model's quality and polygon count, indicating that it was very likely scrapped early on, before the developers started working with a higher polygon allowance. The texture is also of a lower quality than the final models.
Trivia
- Unused sounds can be found in the game files, including one for a Critical hit.
- The Crowbar uses the same textures as the Crowbar in the original Half-Life.
