The Big Mean Mother Hubbard is an experimental primary weapon for the Engineer that was being play-tested by Valve. The existence of this weapon was first discovered in the form of filename strings found in the cp_degrootkeep.lst file that was added to the game in the December 17, 2010 Patch;

Trivia
- The Big Mean Mother Hubbard's design is a Shotgun with what possibly might be an exhaust pipe based on the shape of the De Lisle carbine with a comically rounded barrel. The De Lisle carbine was a British Gun that's inner suppression made it one of most silent weapons manufactured.
