Translation request
Hello, you're an active Polish translator, that's really great to see!
I've got some small work to do (I'm cleaning up Category:Articles needing images), if you would update those pages that would greatly help me:
- Hammer unit/pl - needs to be updated based on the current English version Hammer unit. You can then also remove {{stub}} and {{needimage}}.
- Snack Attack/pl#Galeria - missing gallery pics need to be added. After that, please remove the {{needimage}} template.
Thank you very much in advance! — shots fired by: Nikno {Talk|Contribs} 15:00, 6 April 2016 (PDT)
Mój błąd i STS
Laserman (talk) 10:04, 2 June 2016 (PDT)

Your report regarding "gift" and "trade parameters on Lugermorph/pl
Hey Dan,
I fixed the text in the above named paramters not being localized for all languages. The only thing you now need to do is add your translation to the string here (the string is the very last one, "if obtained through").

Question.
Hey. I noticed on your Sole Saviors edit that you've removed the original Steam Workshop name. I'd like to know if we are doing some sort of project in removing the original names from the pages, or was the removal for another reason? I can help removing original names throughout all the cosmetic pages if you need help. ▪ - 16:09, 16 February 2019 (UTC)
- Currently I'm updating all cosmetic items for /pl but also visiting /en to see if something must be checked. If you want to remove all go on but that's a lot of work. Like removing trivia about non-official sets. Denied (Talk) 17:37, 16 February 2019 (UTC)

Steam ID changes
In theory, the changes you're doing should work, but if you look at the edit history of the Steam ID bot crawl, you'll find that the bot hasn't actually added any new IDs at all since last July. We've only been adding nicknames and stuff since for the last almost a year, that's been the only way to get pages to look correct. ThatHatGuy (talk)
About the change on Weight Room Warmer
Uh, I don't know, but the little quote was so charming on Weight Room Warmer, why replacing with the publicity blurb? If there's something, I highly prefer silly quotes than the workshop blurb. - ▪ - 18:56, 16 April 2019 (UTC)
- I was always prioritising publicity blurb as it's a note from the creator(s), but if they never left any I'm always adding some quote. Denied (Talk)
- It is kind of a weak point using anything from the Workshop, but we sort of have made exceptions for use in the quote. We have discussed this, but haven't made an explicit position in Help:Style guide/Quotes. Some Workshop blurbs are wonderful, some are terrible grammar, but if it is from the Workshop, it is not released. M I K A D O 282 oOOOOo oo oo (talk) (Help Wanted!) 01:47, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
Regarding the Triva section of the Widowmaker page
Hello, I'm the person that added the bit of trivia about the missing foregrip on the TF2 Widowmaker, and I noticed you removed it. To my knowledge, it fits with the wiki's trivia style guide, so I was wondering if I could add it back and/or have an explanation to why it was removed? Thanks in advance.

- Judging from the trivia itself, it wasn't very noteworthy. Trivia is supposed to make you say "Wow! I did not know that!", but your trivia was more like "Eh, who cares?"

About the Dancing Doe image
Hello, Denied,
I can understand if you're upset at me replacing the image you had for the Dancing Doe, but you have to understand that I put time and effort into at least making the icon I made for it fit a bit more. After looking at your image closely, I can see it's a screenshot from loadout.tf that you airbrushed. I am just trying to add an image that more accurately fits the style of the images seen on most items on the TF2 wiki. Sorry if you're upset about the image not being well received, but a screenshot from a fansite doesn't really fit. Sorry.

Avail: Promotional Expired Codes?
I see you added a new string to the page for the TF2VRH earlier last month, but it doesn't seem to have a string defined in the availability module, resulting in a giant block of red text. Have you set a string in the module for promotional-expired-codes to call back to? If so, it isn't displaying correctly. -ThatHatGuy (talk) 06:50, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
- Looks like something is wrong. Can you look at it? Denied (Talk) 09:37, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
- So what's going on is, you've added the dictionary string, but because you linked it through the availability template, it's trying to read the string off the Availability module, and it's not in there. You'll need Darkid's help to get it in there; but for the time being, I've directly linked to the string on the page. It will display the same way when it's properly implemented into the module, but it should be implemented into the module at some point, if we're to use it going forward as an availability string. -ThatHatGuy (talk) 09:58, 2 September 2019 (UTC)
About your edit on the "Gun Mettle Update" removal.
So.. I checked your edit, and it makes sense why you've removed it, they were added in a later patch. However, almost all of the Items from the Gun Mettle Update Nav has the "(Gun Mettle Update)" on each item's "released" section, as well for the fact that the Nav itself is showing the cosmetics which, by following your edit, shouldn't be considered to be on the update?
So what exactly we'll do here? Are we going to remove all instances of the "(Gun Mettle Update)" on each item's "Released" section? Or are we keeping those in? In regard, they are part of the Gun Mettle Update, but not on the same date as July 2, 2015 Patch, so I don't know what to do. - ▪ - 18:56, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
- I proposed (in the IRC) to make it something like (Gun Mettle Update #1).
GrampaSwood (talk) 19:01, 4 September 2019 (UTC)- I'd to remove Gun Mettle Update from all cosmetics that were not a part of the mayor update itself and leave only Gun Mettle Update Nav as it is now. A note about the cosmetics being added in another patch is already added on the update page. Denied (Talk) 19:16, 4 September 2019 (UTC)
Lang redirects
Hi, Danio! I understand that language redirects seem unnecessary, but they are useful for the searching inside the wiki. Please don't mark language redirects for deletion unless another language uses the same translation. Thanks~ — Tark lm(pt-br) 14:14, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- Almost all of items names/abbilities etc. were changed back in 2018, so translated redirects are not correct anymore. Also we aren't using translated names as a redirect anywhere on the Wiki; "Pierdziuszka" will always look like this Pierdziuszka or just Whoopee Cap Denied (Talk) 14:20, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- As I said before, these pages are used to help searching, "unnecessary redirect" is not a valid reason.
- If the redirect is using an outdated name, please include this information in the delete reason when using the template. — Tark lm(pt-br) 14:31, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- There's just few hats from 2010/11 and nobody was adding any new since then. I highly doupt that anybody was searching translated names; I think most people came to the article from other site or Wiki redirect in the game or the marktet. (Please don't ask me to add all missing names) Denied (Talk) 15:17, 28 September 2019 (UTC)
- I personally highly doubt that many people come to the wiki via the somewhat obscure "view wiki page" buttons in-game (or even the more easily visible buttons in the Steam inventory/market). Even if that's the case, it shouldn't hurt that much to keep redirects to language pages. Unless they really are wrong names and such.
- The main reason why it's hard to create new redirects is that some items have the same names in multiple languages (a lot of pt-pt and pt-br names are the same, for example; in worst case scenarios, there's items like Carl where, at least according to the dictionary, most languages kept the same name. And also Czech and Romanian don't translate item names at all, I think). If there was a good solution to this, it wouldn't be too hard to use a bot to create most redirects based on dictionary tokens or even straight out of the game's localization files, thus there would be no need to ask anybody to do it.
- However, it is still a lot easier for the common user that doesn't know how the wiki works and uses Steam in say, Danish, to type in "Skræmmebriller" rather than "Spooktacles/da", and certainly even easier for a common Chinese user to type "不哑的铃" rather than "Dumb Bell/zh-hans". The wiki search is terrible for this as it does not parse markup/templates and such in search results, and can't see the translated name in templates using the dictionary; if I type in Skræmmebriller there's no results, but if I type it into Google, the page for Spooktacles/da is in fact the very first result. Though even if the person came to the wiki via Google or somewhere else, it's not really optimal design that they should go somewhere again to find another page they're looking for once they're already in the site. I'd rather have the wiki's search bar be more than an useless decoration for these users.
- Either way it's unfortunate that language redirects are in a bit of a tough situation. I'd love it if there were redirects for all items, as I'm sure it would make navigating the wiki a lot easier for non-English speakers, but it's not as simple as adding them. I still don't think there is reason for deleting such existing redirects simply because new items don't get them unless there really is consensus between the wiki and/or staff that they all should get deleted (Perhaps the reason most editors don't seem to care is that they don't think much about it, as they know how the wiki works and can just type in Spooktacles/da).
- And if not using redirects in edits was a good reason to delete them, it'd be a good reason to delete most disambiguations as well, as probably no pages would link to something like Banana, they'd link to whatever banana-related page they're referring to. But these pages exist to help users navigate the wiki through the search bar easily.
- If the redirect names are wrong due to translation changes as you implied that's a different reason (Though it does not seem to be the case for the aforementioned Whoopee Cap which still stands as Pierdziuszka in the game's localization files). StargazerG (talk) 09:16, 29 September 2019 (UTC)
- In fact, at least five Chinese visitors have asked me about the searching question, and in an questionnaire I find 22 of 100 people have trouble searching for information.
- Since the wiki search is not a very reliable way for non-english readers, it may be convenient to add tons of lang redirects for people. However,it will result in a huge amount of redirect pages and a lot of work for editors.
- Personnally I already had an idea and I am going to try it days later when I am free. That is to build a big sub page on translation progress page, and fill it with a lot of "nav"s , so visitors can just visit this page and type "ctrl+F" to find the information they want. 14:37, 10 November 2019 (UTC)

could you be more specific to what you meant by any source? Doktorjan 20:28, 22 December 2019 (UTC)

Similar-themed items in 'See also'
I don't want to start an edit war, so, this.
First, there's no need to add all and any 'similar themed' items to the 'See also' sections: as I've explained it here, there, and in IRC someday, this can turn into endless list, even if there is only one item at the moment (like, why not put there all other pocket NPCs, or just links to the Bosses themselves?). One link to subcategory disambig page is enough, I guess.
And second, for <br> at the end of pages, as I've already explained in one diff that you prefer to ignore, there IS a problem that persists for situation when there is something except gallery section right before Nav template. I've seen this for various OS (from WinXP to Win10), various browsers (old Firefox, new Fifefox, assortment of Chromium-based browsers, etc.) and various screen resolutions (starting from 1024×768 to FullHD). And I've seen similar edits on many other pages, so I can guess that I'm not the only one with such problem.
Hope that helps. Irvitzer (talk) 19:48, 8 February 2020 (UTC)
- 1. HHH is the only Halloween pocket boss that is a separate item. Pocket Buddy is used to collect all pocket buddy like cosmetics. Reader won't find so easy that there's another Halloween pocket boss just by looking at Pocket Buddy page. "See also" should stay with both HHH link and Pocket Buddy link.
- 2. I've tested the problem on my personal PC, 2 laptops and my mobile phone. All with different resolutions, and everything looks fine (checked both on /en pages, /pl pages and few random languages). That <br> only adds unnecessary space at the end of an article. Denied (Talk) 11:56, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- If we are putting one 'theme-related' item on this list, why shouldn't we do the same for any other item? Say, cross-link Pocket Admin, Pocket Pauling, Pocket Momma and Pocket Saxton. Or put Pocket Pyro, Pocket Heavy, Pocket Pardner and Itsy Bitsy Spyer into Pocket Medic article. Bomb Scourge of the Sky with every other WWI or German Army related items... Well, you've got the point, I guess. There's no need to list all potentially related items in one article, unless it's something like disambiguation page. Or, at least, we should do this on each and every page, but always with the same rules in mind.
- Ok, that's how it looks for me (warning — uncropped screenshots). In most cases unspaced text right above navigational templates looks like this: FireFox 71, other custom chromium-browser. Nothing specific or bad in particuar (but text is still too close to template, IMO). But some other pages are having this issue with spacing. Nothing gamebreaking, but looks not so good. Smartphone is fine anyway. So, the extra spacing with <br> tag between plan text and nav templates just separates them to make page look a bit better, and it's taking as much space on the screen as one single text line, nothing else. I can't put my finger on the source of said problem, but I can't understand why said empty line is unacceptable for making client-side page rendition better. Irvitzer (talk) 14:18, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- It's not about 'theme-related' items. Pocket Horsemann and Pocket Halloween Boss are literally the same item, but Pocket Horsemann made it to the game years before Pocket Halloween Boss. That's why they're not just one item with 5 styles, which was even metioned by the author of Pocket Halloween Boss. It's not related in any way with 'pocket-related' cosmetics. All 'pocket-related' items already have Pocket Buddy added in 'See also' so no bombing needed.
- And instead of adding <br> something should be done to auto-create a small space, like it looks here Denied (Talk) 15:04, 12 February 2020 (UTC).
- Pocket Horsemann and Pocket Halloween Boss are not the same item, they were made by different artists and in different times. Of course, one item with 5 styles would be perfect, but they're just a two items both based on NPCs. 'Same item' is, for an example, Teutonic Toque and Mustachioed Mann, made by same author and splitted in two items later. Or, obviously, Equalizer and Escape plan.
- Spacing would be perfect solution, but, I'm afraid, it can't be done as is, just because the 'See also' section is not the only one that can be last in an article, sometimes there are also 'References', 'Notes' and some other. I guess it would be better to modify navigational templates, but then we will either broke all two or three at the and of pages, or we'll need to edit each of the update nav templates and some more like 'unused content'. Irvitzer (talk) 15:52, 12 February 2020 (UTC)
- I'm not saying that Pocket Horsemann and Pocket Halloween Boss are the same item in the way that they were created by the same person. They're both a pocket Halloween boss pocket buddy. There are no other cosmetics that feature a pocket Halloween boss. And about extra space under 'See also' I've already left a message on the Wiki discussion page, so maybe something will be done. List of RGL.gg tournament medals.
Hi, Denied.
I saw that you were the last person to update the list of medals in Tournament Medal - RGL.gg, but the Invite, Div1 and Div2 medals seem to be repeated. I was wondering if this was an accident or if there is a reason for this.
Cheers. - BrazilianNut (talk) 02:51, 9 March 2020 (UTC)

Blocking & deleting 'bot' accounts
Heyo,
There's really no need for you to block/delete bot accounts that create blank user pages; they cause no harm and are no different than any other user page, empty or not. Users have created blank user pages in the past and will occasionally do so. In regards to this, I noticed that you recently blocked the account ConstanceBox for creating a blank page, assuming it was a bot. While this could be the case you have to take into consideration that the majority of bots we've encountered normally use a specific naming pattern, whereas the aforementioned account does not and could actually be a legit user; under no circumstances should you ever block a user based on assumption. Only ever block a user if you're absolutely certain that it's a bot/ban evader/account with malicious intent.

Removal of elevated rights (demotion)
Hi,
I regret to inform you that we have decided to revoke your elevated rights as a moderator. This is something that has been discussed a while back, and we wanted to see as to whether you would improve in your role as a staff member before carrying out this decision. Unfortunately, we did not see much improvment from your side.
The primary reason being, that you do not appear to take your role seriously enough; we do not see you take up any staff duties aside from blocking spambots and vandals on occasion (and voting) - which, mind you - is only a small portion of the job, nor do you participate in staff affairs when needed. Activity is also lacking, however, it is no secret that the majority of the staff are also struggling to stay active (myself included) but it just seem like you don't care all that much even when you're around. I suppose you could see the above topic as an example, and how it gives such an impression since you never bothered to reply to me, leaving me in the dark as to whether you had read or understood my message.
Another reason being, is that from our observations, you seem somewhat clueless on some basic wiki tasks/features and often need help to carry them out, making you heavily dependant on others as a moderator. Now, I can understand that not all moderators are equally knowledable or expected to be; in fact, in accordance with bullet point 6 under Moderator responsibilities, it is OK to seek help from another staff member more knowledgeable, but you are expected to know the basic features such as to properly move a page. This is a rather vast weakness for a moderator.
Lastly, we don't see much effort put into your votes; you don't go over the candidate's contributions as for judging the actual quality which is a key factor for proper voting. Rather, you seem to just echo the backers' statements and don't appear to go through the contributions yourself, which doesn't leave us much to work with and is quite bothersome. You even at one point left your vote without adding a reason, albeit abstaining.
For these reasons, we unfortunately do not see much value in keeping you around as a staff member. We hope you'll continue to stick around, and we thank you for your time with us. Wookipan (talk | contribs) 21:08, 29 August 2021 (UTC)

Hello !
First of all thank you for correcting what I did in that article. To my understanding, as well as what other experienced wiki users told me, usually the perrow="3" code is used on the gallery for multi-class items. Why was my edit reverted? I'd like to know so I can avoid making any future mistakes.
Yossef | Talk | Contributions 07:10, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- perrow="x" is not only used on pages for multi-class items. Mostly it's used for galleries with many images (usually more than three), like here.
- But on what pages and why they are added, I actually have no idea. I was adding them since I've seen other editors add them too, so I've assumed that there was some change in editing and that it should be added to galleries fron now on. Denied (Talk) 11:13, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
- I see, I try to be consistent on my edits, hence the question. In my opinion, the topic should be dragged and discussed, so we all can be in the same page regarding this. Moreover, here are some other examples where the perrow "code" is not being used:
- Saxxy
- Golden Frying Pan (Half used)
- Pip-Boy
- Golden Wrench
- Dispenser

- Perhaps, we can discuss this with the other users? Should the code be used ONLY on cosmetic items with more than 3 images? Should it be used on items overall?
- What do you think? Yossef | Talk | Contributions 11:34, 17 May 2022 (UTC)
Removal of Template:Dictionary/common strings/pc gamer digital episode 1
Hey Denied, I see that you removed this common string -- when you do so, please double check if it is in use at Special:WhatLinksHere/Template:Dictionary/common strings/pc gamer digital episode 1.
