The Knight is an experimental boss from an old Mann vs. Machine prototype from 2009 simply called "Raid". It was a replacement for the Mecha Level 4 Sentry. The mini-boss version is a gray, Sentry Buster-like creature. The final boss version is a large gray, faceless, and armored Demoman. The Knight is invulnerable, unless stunned in which case it receives 1000% damage.[2] The only way to make boss vulnerable is to hit specific body part on boss.[3] The team must perform three shots in a row to successfully stun boss. The Knight runs at 300 Hammer units per second[4] and charges at 1000 Hammer units per second[5].
The existence of this boss was first discovered in the form of filename strings found in some .lst
files from before the May 13, 2013 Patch when all .lst
files in the tf\reslists
folder were deleted. These filename strings are for files related to a knight with a big sword and big shield and several armor pieces.

The following models were also listed with .ani
, .dx80.vtx
, .dx90.vtx
, .jpg
, .phy
, .sw.vtx
and .vvd
files, which have been omitted from the list below for brevity's sake.

It is assumed that the following two weapon models were for this boss as they are only found listed in the .lst
files.
