The Branding Iron is a scrapped melee weapon for the Pyro. Although lacking most of its textures, its model is of an oversized branding iron which bears the initials 'TF' on its head.

Within game_sounds_weapons.txt, the Fire Axe has the heading BRANDING IRON, suggesting this weapon was scrapped in favor of the Axe, likely early into development, as it's only known texture lacks all detail besides ambient occlusion. This texture was found in the files for the Xbox 360 release of The Orange Box.
