The Fire retardant suit was a scrapped unlockable primary item for the Spy, available for use in the closed beta. The Fire retardant suit was represented in the player's backpack by an image of the Spy's suit bundled and wrapped with with a similarly-colored team-colored band that featured the class icon of the Pyro.

The Fire retardant suit protected the Spy, by reducing incoming fire damage exactly 90%. An alternate 'Beta 2' version of the Fire retardant suit grants the wearer complete immunity to the afterburn effect. With the Fire retardant suit equipped, the Spy gains increased protection against the Pyro's flames, but loses the ranged attack capabilities of his primary Revolver unlockable weapons.

Since the Fire retardant suit is still in an unreleased stage, these attributes may be changed, or the weapon may be scrapped entirely.
