“ | What is the true meaning of Australian Christmas? Some say it is a hamfisted attempt by the Australian government to turn a notorious felon into a beloved folk hero. Others say it's a calculated ploy by the novelty munitions industry to sell guns that shoot mistletoe.
And then there are those who look past all that, and maintain that it is a time to reconnect with friends and loved ones, and to be thankful for the blessings in our lives. And then there are those who are still licking their emotional wounds from all the reconnecting with friends and loved ones they did at Thanksgiving, and realize that the true true meaning of Australian Christmas is zero human contact, eating candy, and getting as many presents as possible. And those people are correct—that is the true meaning of Australian Christmas. We looked it up.— TF2 Blog

The Australian Christmas 2011 update is a major content update for Team Fortress 2, released on December 15, 2011, and the last major content update for 2011. Part 1 of the major update consisted of two item sets for the Pyro and Engineer, as well as a 'double drop week' lasting from December 15 until December 21, where the rate of drops through the item drop system is increased. It also included the new map, Foundry, as well as an achievement hat, Full Head of Steam. Part 2 added community-contributed items from the Steam Workshop, to only be obtained by unlocking Nice Winter Mann Co. Supply Crates through keys purchased from the Mann Co. Store. The Naughty Winter Crate contained a number of stock weapons with lights wrapped around them, including "Festive" as an added title, and required the separate Naughty Winter Crate Key to unlock. On the night of the 21st, all accounts were awarded a Spirit of Giving and all premium players received one free Secret Saxton.
