The Shanty Shipmate is a community-created special taunt for the Demoman.
When activated, the Demoman does a 180° jump as the SS DeGroot - a small rowing boat, painted with the team's color and a white stripe around it with a handwritten registry on the back - pops out of the ground; he then sits down and starts rowing, occasionally looking around and saying drunken gibberish. Upon finishing the taunt, the Demoman stands up with an unstable step. Every time the Demoman rows, the boat moves a little, with the player only being able to turn left and right.
The Shanty Shipmate was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Bugs
- It is possible for the boat to move uninterruptedly, mismatching the Demoman's rowing.[1]
