The Cranial Cowl is a community-created cosmetic item for the Soldier. It replaces the Soldier's default helmet with a team-colored hood, adorned with two thin, black stripes that run from back to front. It also gives him a black, zipped-down jacket under his coat and a black (RED) or grey (BLU) full face ski mask with vertical stripes that leaves his eyes exposed.
This item has two styles, named "Bones" and "Boneless". The "Bones" style gives the ski mask a skull print, while the "Boneless" style makes it plain.
The Cranial Cowl was contributed to the Steam Workshop.

Due to how the textures are set up, painting the Cranial Cowl (Boneless style) with single color Paint Cans results in different colorization on the paint regions between teams.
