Powerups
Haste
The Haste powerup doubles the Engineer's metal capacity and also increases his Wrench swing speed, allowing him to construct buildings much more easily. This allows the Engineer to:
- Construct building faster.
- Rely on ammo boxes and resupply lockers.
- Move quicker to place buildings or flee enemies.
Regeneration
The Regeneration powerup provides the Engineer with an infinite supply of metal - along with the other regeneration bonuses. This allows the Engineer to:
- Construct buildings without any need for ammo lockers, ammo cases, or dispensers.
- Use the [Short Circuit] or [Rescue Ranger] more easily.
The Regeneration powerup allows an Engineer to "go deep" into enemy territory.
Precision
The precision powerup is most effective when used with the Widowmaker. With good aim, the increased damage at range tends to do more than 30 damage, allowing the weapon to be fired continuously on enemies that it otherwise would be ineffective on, giving the Engineer a powerful offensive weapon.
Plague
The Plague Powerup allows the Engineer to warn off enemies who may attack directly (such as Demoknights and Spies) or damage/take out those that do. Useful in close quarters.
Medic
General
Powerups
Strength
The Medic can use Strength to deliver extremely potent Crusader's Crossbow shots. A single shot can take out lighter classes with enough distance. When combined with Criticals at sufficient distance, this attack will one shot kill every class unless they are overhealed or have a powerup that protects them.
Haste
The haste powerup can be used with the Medic to provide him with two crossbow shots in quick succession, and also improves his evasive abilities.
Sniper
Spy
General
The Spy is one of the most versatile classes in Mannpower mode. He has the ability to steal enemy powerups when disguised, making him quite useful for reclaiming enemy powerups. A helpful Spy may bring powerups back to his team's spawn. Thanks to his one shot kill ability, the Spy can take out enemies that might be very difficult to take out otherwise. He is quite versatile and is able to function effectively with most if not all of the powerups. The Dead Ringer is not very effective in Mannpower mode because it causes the Spy to drop his powerup.
Powerups
Strength
Strength is one of the Spy's favorite powerups. This powerup doubles his damage output while also removing ranged damage fall off. The stock Revolver becomes quite fearsome, as each shot will deal 80 damage. Light classes, such as Snipers, Scouts, and Spies, will be taken out with just two hits. Even soldiers are taken out with just 3 hits. A full clip of 6 shots deals 420 damage, giving the Spy the ability to take out a heavy in a direct confrontation using a single clip. Being able to cloak when pressured can provide additional survivability to the Spy. He can hide behind enemy lines and take out buildings or players at range using his Revolver when opportunity arises.
Haste
Haste is an effective buff for the Spy. He can take advantage of the movement speed increase in order to make it easier to get matador stabs or sneak behind enemy lines very quickly. He can also make quick work of enemies using his Revolver, which now fires faster and has a larger clip.
Agility
Agility is one of the Spy's best powerups, although unlike haste it does not provide the Spy with a buff to his Revolver, it provides more movement speed bonus than the haste, making it much easier to get trickstabs and move around behind enemy lines.
King
The Spy can make effective use of the king buff as it turns the fragile Spy into a very durable and heavy hitting class. With his Revolver he can easily make quick work of heavier classes that would normally defeat him in a direct confrontation. He can also hide behind enemy lines and provide buffs to his team mates when they attack to steal the intelligence. The Spy must be careful not to allow the particle effects to of the king buff to give away his location while he is invisible.
Plague
The plague powerup provides the Spy with some extra durability due to its ability to pick up health packs at range, but this ability should not be relied upon too much. The plague effect will trigger when the Spy bumps into an enemy while disguised, but not if the Spy is invisible. A Spy can cause havoc on the enemy team by hiding among them and then bumping into a player. This buff shows a particle effect to other players when they are infected so the Spy will need to be careful to escape out of the line of sight as soon as possible to avoid being killed. Also, good players will see through the Spies disguise because of the plague powerup icon if attacks are too frequent or the enemy team keeps track of who has which buff. This is a risky buff due to its tendency to reveal the location of the Spy, but used effectively can cause a lot of paranoia.
Supernova
The Spy should generally avoid this powerup, because the particle effects seem to display even while the Spy is invisible. It is possible for the Spy to quickly reach behind enemy lines and wait for the buff to charge, but this is difficult and requires good planning.
