Trivia edit
why did you edit that out, it wasnt wrong PikaWarrior1222 (talk) 16:08, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
- Hi there,
- The piece of Trivia is XofY trivia, which is not valid Trivia as you are comparing the % of players that have achieved said achievement to the other ones. This Trivia is also quick to be outdated, as other achievements can take that title away at any time. See the Trivia help guide for more information on what is and isn't Trivia.

PikaWarrior1222 (talk) 19:07, 25 May 2023 (UTC)i've got an honest question: do you have a life
- What's the point in being rude over a few simple edits? What you added was a baseless claim and directly goes against Valve's video policy.

Mistaken page edit
Apologies for the "Anti-Scout strategies" page edits, I did not realise it was referring to the Classic TF2. Dule (talk) 14:47, 6 June 2023 (UTC)
- No worries, I get the confusion. An easy way to see if it's about TF Classic or TF2 is to see if the page has "(Classic)" in the name.

HI,
I didn't know what an edit war was until a couple of hours ago; my main concern for the page was readability. I thank you for making the page more aligned with the wiki. I added some minor spacing that I thought you missed, if that's ok.

Oops
You probably will need to fix the Saxton Hale health chart you made; for entry 25, I typoed 27000 as 29000. 27000 is the correct value and I have double-checked the rest of the values I entered to make sure there aren't any other errors. Probably a good thing you made that graph too, the weird spike that didn't match my chart made me check.

Page prioritization
Greetings, again. I'm almost done with the preliminary work on game terms, titles, etc., and theoretically I can start doing at least something next week.
I remember in the FAQ that I recommend that translators focus their attention on the "most important pages" to start with - the main menu, the most visited pages, etc. And leave rarely visited pages for the very end.
Is there a list, a table, a ranking of the most important/most visited pages so that I can create a guideline? Thanks.
--FIRUIN (talk) 08:51, 27 July 2023 (UTC) FIRUIN
- I don't think there is one list of most important pages. The Dutch translation page has one that I generally would recommend to people, that being weapons first (Stock weapons -> achievement reward weapons -> other weapons), cosmetic items second (I would start with the newest cosmetics first), major updates, maps, achievement pages, small updates, then from there it's whatever.
- Also do note that you should use the
tf_ukrainian.txt
to find all the translations possible rather than making your own. We've had some discussion in the Staff channel and we're not entirely sure yet where these translations should go.
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) 10:10, 27 July 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you, yes, I remember about the correspondence of the names, thanks for reminding me about the existence of this file, I almost forgot. Ha ha.
- There's a little problem with the last items because they're not translated yet, so I'll leave them for later.
- And as for posting them, I'll probably post them from my page like User:FIRUIN/Sัout/uk. This way I can show what I can do and, if necessary, they can be simply copied and pasted as the official translation of the page. At least I think so, I haven't quite figured out the technical part of this wiki yet.
- In any case, it's better to spend more time preparing to meet the relevant standards.

Hello again! I had an idea. Maybe together we will edit the information on the maps? About Reckoner, I don't know what else to write in the map description. Undarker (talk) 12:34, 2 August 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not sure either, the Workshop description is a good placeholder but generally they tend to be biased and not adhere to the neutral POV that the Wiki is supposed to adhere to. For example, Phoenix's Workshop description was very biased towards it and seemed to make it out as one of the greatest maps to exist.

DYK translation
There is now a fact "...that some cosmetic hats and bot heads from Mann vs. Machine are available on the Steam community marketplace for SteamVR?" on the main page in DYK, which is not translated into Russian. I've been trying all day to figure out how to translate it, but I still can't figure it out. Can you help with this question? Maybe I should just add the Russian version of it to the facts list?

Hey GrampaSwood I can't stop but wonder why you deleted the video I uploaded showcasing the bug, after you asked me to give proof? The American Boot (talk) 20:32, 15 August 2023 (UTC)
- The proof only needs to be provided once, the video was rather large so it's not necessary for it to stay on the Wiki and it already served its purpose, so I deleted it (I kept the bug on the page, as it's verified). If you want the video to be on the Wiki, I would suggest uploading it to YouTube and putting that on the page instead.

Translation progress poisoning
Hello Swood, as you know, each translation team has a translation progress table showing the work done on "main" categories. This is very useful because it is possible to compare between the /fr and English categories and keep both synchronized; however, due to this nature, some categories end up holding "untranslatable" pages and such. I have previously discussed the topic with Mikado. This is one of the reasons why loc teams such as /ru will never reach the 100% mark; some pages just cannot be translated and have no purpose being localized. Examples include Category:Official maps
, Category:Images by map
, Category:Custom maps unreleased stubs/lang
and Category:Lists to be expanded
(and probably more). The easy fix would just be to remove them from the main categories, but I thought it could be seen as vandalism in a way. Your input would be appreciated. Sometimes other problems may arise, such as a User space page or a Sandbox page that might end up in categories. I personally think they do not belong there unless it's a User space category. Those are minor issues regardless.
Luno ๐ช๐ Talk / Contributions / Team 02:49, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
- Well if you see a User page in a non-User category, then feel free to remove it from the category (preferably by adding a colon before, such as [[:Category:Weapons]]), as for removing them from the main category they're automatically added there via a bot from Darkid. You'd best ask Darkid for some kind of solution for this.
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) 10:40, 26 August 2023 (UTC)
- I see, as for the others I've listed, none of them were categorized by a bot; it was all manual, unless you mean that removing the Lists category from
Category:Lists to be expanded
for exemple, would have it added back immediately by a bot?
Luno ๐ช๐ Talk / Contributions / Team 15:20, 26 August 2023 (UTC) - (EDIT) Maybe you meant the table itself, as in Darkid could help in that way, like adding a sort of whitelist? That could help too, although the offending pages would still show up in category comparison, which is also not a big problem.
Luno ๐ช๐ Talk / Contributions / Team 15:35, 26 August 2023 (UTC)

- Ah I misunderstood, it's much simpler, using the "pagesincategory" magic word you can simply subtract the amount of categories it shouldn't track. Not entirely sure how to do that (I took a look at the template code and it's quite complicated) so I would ask Darkid for help on that.

- Thanks a bunch, Swood. I'll mark them for deletion. To summarize, I should contact Darkid for the other categories so that we can keep those marked in the main categories. I personally would have just removed the category from them so that they don't show up in there since I believe they were sufficiently accessible without them.

You should ask him if he can figure out how to subtract a certain number from the total amount of pages in the category. These categories are kept for maintenance reasons so they should be kept in there, this solution is much more dynamic.

Types of translatable strings
Hello! I am currently translating some pages in romanian and based on the comments I recieved on my edits I'm trying to use {{}} type links rather than [[]] type links. However, in order to use these links I need to know where in the Template Dictionary the thing I am linking to is found. You told me about 'item link', 'update link', 'item name', 'item kind' and 'item description' so I was wondering if there was a list of all categories. For example I cannot add a 'Mannpower' link because the gamemode doesn't belong in those categories. I also wanted to thank you for helping me learn about the translation guidelines! --Lord of Dominating (talk) 16:27, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
- It should be visible on the actual template page, for example
{{item name}}
. If you edit this page, it shows "dictionary/items/" in the code, that is where they are located. This should work for every template. If not, feel free to ask here which ones. - That I know of, item link/name uses Template:Dictionary/items,
{{Map link}}
/{{Map name}}
uses Template:Dictionary/common strings#map names, and{{Common string}}
uses Template:Dictionary/common strings. Let me know if you find any more you want to know.

Question about a patch
I have a small question about the 6|28|2011 patch for the Persian Persuader. I don't understand what the patch actually did so I don't know how to translate it. This is the patch in question: 'Added/Refined recoil/draw/crit/reload forces for the Persian Persuader.' Was the strenght of this weapon's knockback increased or was the animation changed? Or was it something else entirely. Thanks for the help, -Lord of Dominating (talk) 19:14, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
- I'm not entirely sure but I believe it's animation.
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) 19:26, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
- I'd say its animation, I doubt volvo would have increased knockback force without listing it somewhere in the stats, unless by some weird spaghetti code the knockback force was nerfed somehow. I assume because Demoman holds the Persian Persuader like the bottle, the animations looked weird compared to the other swords, so they changed it. Payn (talk) 00:00, 30 August 2023 (UTC)
Moving pages
Hey, I wanted to ask how you move pages or images to other pages? I see the move log, and I've wondered how they work. Payn (talk) 04:28, 31 August 2023 (UTC)
- More (top right of screen) > move. Keep in mind that a wrong move that needs to be undone is usually very messy, so if you're not 100% sure you should ask on the talk page first. Do note that every move you do creates a redirect, which needs to be marked for deletion.

Help request for translation LUT for itemboxes
Hi! I am currently working on a LUT for itemboxes because I am currently reworking all the german pages because they are outdated. Long-story short I see how active you are and that you are also a semi-retired dutch translator. Could you do me a favor and please have a look at the LUT and check if the nl-version is correct? Thank you so much in advance for your time! CampeR (talk) 08:56, 5 September 2023 (UTC)
- These are all correct except Mk.I and Mk.II, the K isn't capitalised. Also note that "verfeestelijkte" is only used if there's an item name after it (e.g. "verfeestelijkte knuppel" meaning festivized bat, there are some exceptions to this though), otherwise "verfeestelijkt" is used. "Roestige" is also not used for every item, the Sniper Rifle and Knife being the 2 exceptions (as well as generic "rust botkiller" translation). I noticed that on your Soda Popper edit, the "verfeestelijkte" should be "verfeestelijkt" as there is no item name after it.

Question about a patch
I'm currently translating the SMG page in Romanian and I found a patch witch I don't understand. This is the patch in question: "Added community contributed response rules to the SMG." What are community response rules? Thank you for your help as always -Lord of Dominating (talk) 13:29, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
- IIRC response rules are when a character says voice lines, so it would be the critera that needs to be met for certain voice lines to play (for the SMG that would only be 1 line, see Sniper responses.

Redirect not working
I was updating the translation for the Left 4 Dead games and ran into a problem. For whatever reason, the Romanian Left 4 Dead 1 page is inaccessible and always redirects to the Left 4 Dead 2 page. Both pages were already created but the one for Left 4 Dead 1 contained information about Left 4 Dead 2. How do I fix this problem? -Lord of Dominating (talk) 20:23, 17 September 2023 (UTC)

I forgot to write it in the edit summary, but since the Mann Co. Store also includes the listings of SCM items such as cosmetic and warpaint cases, some players assume that this is still considered buying from the store. This also includes the fact that they are often told to buy the cheapest item, as we know most items bought from the store isn't exactly worth the money spent. Yes, SCM items have the "On Market" tag and "View on Market" button, but I still think this issue occurs enough times to mention this. - ZappyTwo (talk) 16:36, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
- When you buy it from the store it doesn't include listings from the SCM, but it redirects you there. It also specifically mentions it's "on market", it's not really our responsibility to help people read tags that already exist.

"community-created"
For wiki pages like Freight and Turbine, I'm not entirely sure we should make the "community-created" text link to the Steam Workshop page, since these maps weren't contributed through the workshop.
Mariosonic500 (talk) 22:39, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
- This is also done on cosmetic items that were added pre-Workshop (e.g. Troublemaker's Tossle Cap). The only other link that could be used is the Contribution page, which is simply a redirect to the Steam Workshop once the Workshop replaced it (looking at the history of the page, it also appears to be very similar to the current Workshop page).

Russian description of item availability on Romanian pages
I noticed while creating a page for the Fireproof Secret Diary that the item table template translates the "Drop" description in the availability section in Russian on Romanian articles. I didn't notice this two days ago so it must be a recent change. I believe someone edited the template and accidentally wrote ru instead of ro somewhere. I don't know where this template is located or who oversees it so I thought the best solution was to contact you. Lord of Dominating (talk) 09:04, 6 October 2023 (UTC)

Zombie Infection edits
Hey! I saw your changes, and I feel like I failed to properly articulate what I was TRYING to say, so I will write here what I was trying to say so you could write it down for me in a clearer manner. What I was trying to get to with when I was mentioning the Beggars was the fact that with the Beggars, you can shoot rockets at the same rate as stock without having to reload, due to the Beggar's drawing from the reserve ammo. As such, it is perfect for those situation where you need a rocket at all times, which is almost every moment in ZI. I hope this makes sense, and I hope you can write this into the strategy page better than I did :) Payn (talk) 02:28, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- Oh, another thing. With the Scout Zombies doing the same damage as a standard melee attack, I know this is true, however I'm not sure how I'd find the source in the code. I see that other sources seem to show file directories, however when I search for it I cannot find it. Can you explain this to me? I'd like to know.โ The preceding unsigned comment was added by Payn (talk) โข (contribs) 04:50 CET, 13 October 2023โ

- The VScript files are contained in maps themselves, using GCFScape you can extract the .zip file contained in the .bsp files of maps. In the scripts folder, VScript files can be found. I've added a note already about the base damage, but Scout's weapon is the Heavy's fists with a different viewmodel. The Bat itself does 35 damage instead of that being a natural Scout trait, hence why it's not added as a passive.

Sorry about posting the Zombie Infection video incorrectly.
Yeah, I admit I screwed up there. You mentioned that it's best to post videos like that to the Youtube channel. In case a similar situation happens again in the future, how exactly do I do that?
Also, where should I go if I want to learn how to dig through the game's files to help add assets to the wiki? Carver (talk) 02:58, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
- Don't worry about it, it's not like there is a place that mentions videos like that should be uploaded to the YouTube channel first. I'm not exactly sure where to get these intro video files, but I've made a guide here on how to access several different parts of the game files.

Which version is better? I put the former in Pyroland gallery, but the file difference is huge (3MB vs 53 Kb), and I'm not sure which lighting is better. Confusing copyright text
Hello there.
My recent edits are intended to clarify the confusion that the copyright texts pertaining to "media" and "screenshot" cause.
For instance, see User:Tiagoquix/Sandbox.
Here we have "ExtractTF2" and "ScreenshotTF2".
With "ExtractTF2", I think the average reader would infer that the image/video is extract directly from the game files.
And, with "ScreenshotTF2", the average reader would infer it was done by a community member.
The problem here is that there isn't actually a category that explicitly mentions "video".
But I imagine that reverting just my last edit is enough, while the rest remains OK in their current form.
Tiagoquix (talk) 23:13, 30 October 2023 (UTC)
- That's odd, because media should not necessarily mean extract. I was under the impression this was for a Valve-related box anyways, not TF2 (due to the name). Feel free to revert, although I don't believe it's entirely necessary because there are very rarely any GIFs made from in-game content (the other ones are ArtworkTF2 because they're Workshop images). Also be careful with putting stuff like those licenses on your User space pages, as they do include categories which should not be on User space.

A bit demoralized
I'll be honest, sometimes it seems the rules are a bit too tight. I understand and very much appreciate that TF2 Wiki holds itself to a high quality standard compared to other fan wikis. especially when you consider the number of kids that flood this game, particularly years ago. I imagine that otherwise, a looser ship would be filled with illegible speculation and hogwash. However,with the Roar O War for instance, that beta names not fitting Trivia is an example at this point of TF2's life is just a tad excessive to where it stifles the mission of the Wiki. When was the last time we had Valve-made content? All we have left of nitty gritty stuff that IS allowed is scraping the barrel. And again, in context of this game and what's been studied to death and what Valve is doing (or isn't doing, I should say, it tempts me to ask myself what I'm doing sometimes. I was never adept at much "hard STEM" matters like tedious coding. I've always been more on the artistic side and I love this game to death, but with current conditions, for someone who likes and is soothed by editing this wiki, there just isn't much meat on the bone to pick. It's not exactly fun to flesh out community event pages from years ago either that i guess only a few people not involved in this wiki will ever read. At least item pages have a hypothetical stream of newcomers to be helped by new content. Forgive the tangent please, but I got it off my chest. Increasingly it just seems like the current state of the Wiki feels outdated to the reality of the game, and that hinders the editor experience, if not discouraging of others. Thanks for reading.-- Akolyth (talk) 20:04, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Agreed, though item names may not be valid Trivia regardless.
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) (contribs) 20:13, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- Barring any surprises or miracles, there seems to be a consensus among fans that Valve's plan the past few years and going forward is to have Halloween and Smissmas community updates, with maybe a Summer Update too, and sparse bugfixes inbetween. All community, with Eric Smith and 1-2 contractors to keep the lights on and duct-tape the leaky holes. TF2 post-Jungle Inferno is a de facto Community game, and I think the Wiki should try to realize this at some point, because Valve is Valve.-- Akolyth (talk) 20:34, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- I think the issue with pre-release Trivia was mostly that it was to stop Trivia like "this cosmetic was uploaded together with x cosmetic as a set" (assuming the other cosmetic didn't get in the game). Another point of concern may have been that usually item creators are a lot less professional than Valve, there are still times where a Workshop creator can be found intentionally wanting false Trivia uploaded to the Wiki by lying to people who ask about it, so it may have been to stop that.
- Another possibility is that it's simply a broad ban because of several types of Trivia that fell under the "pre-release" Trivia umbrella and they decided to just ban all of it rather than have to make a case-by-case judgement, similarly to XofY trivia.
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) (contribs) 21:07, 4 November 2023 (UTC)
- The problem regarding Workshop-trivia was ultimately because creators are free to put any names and descriptions on their items, including names that Valve are unable to accept due to copyright reasons or other reasons. We also had a couple items in the past that had way too many trivia bullet points on their articles, all related to information that was only found in the Workshop page, and not in the actual game, which is what most players are going to "see" the item, and what it ultimately feels more "official", at least to me... which leads to my last point. The Workshop-trivia are solely found on the Workshop's item page, and NOT in TF2-itself, in-game, when you are playing TF2. In the "actual game" can represent:
- A hidden thing on the texture (even if it's not actually visible in-game, because the texture got accepted to the game);
- An unused content that managed to get into the game files, and had a meaning behind (like the Bonesaw (map) unused axe). This wouldn't fall as "Trivia", but it's still information on the article itself;
- The name itself (if the reference is confirmed by the creators and isn't a name modification made by Valve);
- The description (if there's any).
- I was the person who came forward regarding these types of trivia and if they should really be on the pages, then, after some discussion, it was decided that no future ones should be added and existing ones should be removed. Nowadays, I'm also unsure in regards to additions of Workshop thumbnails, because it can fall under the same problem. I was also the person who uploaded a lot of missing Workshop thumbnails back in the day, but that was mostly because several items already had workshop thumbnails on their pages. It was a matter of "it was something done before so let's continue doing it, for consistency's sake", but if those should be removed (after a proper discussion is made), that's fine by me. Workshop thumbnails can, however, show animated previews of some items, like the Flatliner, so it's not always a problem, and so far, we haven't had really problematic Workshop thumbnails. - โช - 21:55, 4 November 2023 (UTC)

Any information on the development of the item itself (e.g. "this cosmetic was going to feature a headset but was cut due to time restraints" or "this item was originally planned to be for x") would be valid Trivia if this rule was removed. Trivia about the Workshop page would fall under 2 rules basically, one that bans Trivia that's unrelated to the item (in this case, it would be about the Workshop) and one that specifically bans Trivia about the Workshop page (I mostly added this as the first one didn't seem to very clearly convey this and ppl would still add publicity blurb or Workshop thumbnail Trivia).
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) (contribs) 22:06, 4 November 2023 (UTC)- Gabriel, do you think ultimately that such rules should be tweaked in light of the state of the game in the past years? I want the best for the wiki and I admire a professional appearance, and I know there's a lot of work that isn't about "interesting" stuff and old neglected articles to care for, but sometimes it really feels like there are articles that are bare-bones where they shouldn't be (to that extent). I think users should come to the wiki not only knowing more about their beloved game, but eager to read more without feeling like they're at an art gallery.-- Akolyth (talk) 22:19, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- An example I just saw: Cyborg Stunt Helmet. In the description, it references "Famous robot actor Kirk RoboDouglas". Under current Trivia rules, while this reference is so obvious it isn't even obvious because it's literally the name of the Golden Age Hollywood actor with a prefix (also see "Hall of RoboPresidents" at Strontium Stove Pipe), I have to go and ask Zipfinator, Gadget or Square, if this is a reference to that actor, when they often don't even open comments or take friend requests. It's a gamble every time. And I'm going to look like a lunatic if I ask "is Kirk RoboDouglas really Kirk Douglas"? And to my knowledge, Valve wrote these corny descriptions anyway for this early 2010s period, and there's no way Eric Smith, the only real active dev, is gonna waste his less-than-minimal time answering my trivia emails either. So in effect, what happens is that ESL and other Wiki readers are deprived of knowledge, and articles are more bare for no reason except these archaic rules that haven't gotten the memo Valve treats one of the most iconic series in gaming like an orphan locked in the basement. I've tried for ages to look from all angles and I still strongly believe something needs to be changed for the better. It's not 2014 anymore, as much as I wish it was. :( I just want things to flourish, organized but still vibrant.-- Akolyth (talk) 03:57, 11 November 2023 (UTC)

I linked a discussion above about the Workshop trivia. About the references, though, if it's some like "Kirk RoboDouglas" it's literally the guy's name. It wouldn't need confirmation, because it's not "obvious" it's straight up just the guy's name. Unless there are like 5+ actors with the same name, you wouldn't need Trivia for that. Hall of RoboPresidents is a lot less obvious to me, it is the name of an attraction irl but it also sounds like a very generic place where you can see all US presidents (similarly to "hall of fame"). There are plenty of examples where stuff that was so obvious turned out not to be obvious. Big example, so many people called the Shortness Of Breath an Opposing Force reference, which it turned out not to be. Many people called the Fire Fighter a reference to Ryu from Street Fighter, which it turned out not to be. The TF2Maps 72hr Jam 2018 medal design obviously looks like the Shine sprites from Super Mario Sunshine, yet it's not a reference. The Safety Stripes and Firearm Protector were apparently obvious references to Final Combat, but it turned out they weren't. These rules weren't made in 2014, these were established ~3-4 years ago to prevent false Trivia from being added (this was a complaint often seen made by Workshop creators). It's impossible to distinguish something being "obvious", so these rules are here to stay, no matter how unfortunate that might be.
| s | GrampaSwood (talk) (contribs) 12:45, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
- Akolyth, the problem is that, we either apply to the rules to all pages, or we don't apply any rules at all (the former is what we are doing right now). Having a few pages where this rule isn't applied feels very arbitrary. Some pages just won't have that many trivia because there's simply no trivia about them. Adding information just for the sake to keep the pages more populated isn't the ideal way. Not every item's look is a pop culture reference or reference to another media, and despite that we can't really get in contact with Valve regarding their items, we at least can try with Workshop creators. This can be a good thing, because often there's fan-wikis out there with piles or piles of uninteresting trivia (many of them have XofY types of trivia). I have asked politely to a lot of creators where they confirmed whether or not a trivia was valid, or asking the purpose behind an unused content (Bonesaw (map)) or hidden polygon (Der Wintermantel). Sometimes it may take a while, but I did get responses from the majority of them, including Square. And, speaking of which, regarding what Swood said, another classic example is the Death Stare, we had a lot of people adding trivia information that the item was 100% a reference to Sir Daniel Fortesque from MediEvil, even adding images to the Gallery section with a Daniel render, but as it turns out, after I asked Square about it, the item was not designed around this character, it was a mix of a knight with a pirate theme. - โช - 13:36, 11 November 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you both for the thoughtful replies, I really appreciate it~ My qualm admittedly wasn't with the "apparently obvious" rule per se, so much as it was stuff like beta community content for Trivia. With my example, I thought it wasn't something that could even be considered obvious, because it seemed like a plain statement rather than being "cheeky", I guess would be a useful term. But I know at that point things can become both subjective and redundant. And obrigado to Gabriel for the hopeful bit emphasizing patience with creators, because I have a habit of doubting myself a lot and not wanting to be an annoyance etc. and some users have seemed less open than others.-- Akolyth (talk) 05:26, 12 November 2023 (UTC)
Engineer
Even though he's considered a defensive class by the game, I've also read and heard people over the years consider him more of a Support role (both in public and some comp settings). Whether that holds truth or not, I'm guessing that the original intent is what must be stuck to in style.-- Akolyth (talk) 22:07, 10 November 2023 (UTC)
- With the exception of the Mini-Sentry, Engineer is pretty much a defensive class with support capabilities. Regardless of this, as long as the game classifies Engineer as a defence class we should too. Though this only applies to places where we talk about the class in general (for example, you can say Engineer can be good at offense, but you shouldn't say "Engineer is an offensive class").

Typos
Today you moved a note about Halloween spells to Bugs. Is there a distinction here or did you change your mind, because in the past you've always been content with leaving errors in item description marked as if they're neutral phenomena. For example the Napper's Respite (but that's a capitalization error not a typo). I know it's all splitting hairs but... I guess it's something I can do. What is the differnce?-- Akolyth (talk) 18:30, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- I think I may have overlooked it then. I think for typos in descriptions and such it should be in bugs, whereas the misspellings of non-English words (or quasi-language words) should be in Trivia. The distinction here (in my opinion) is that non-English spelling mistakes are more Trivia, while English ones are "bugs".

- So the CAPPER and Shooting Star's typo then should be bugs?-- Akolyth (talk) 18:56, 26 November 2023 (UTC)
- Yeah.

- Yeah.

- It's not uncommon for this to happen with some cosmetics for Sniper, such as the Nasty Norsemann. I do notice I've removed it previously on there and it's currently on the Sniper taunts page rather than on each individual page.

Confirmation from the creator
So the reason I added those things in the Medical Mystery and Chronomancer pages was because the Scout cosmetic that went along with the other two did not seem to need a confirmation, so why do the other two need a confirmation? Missing boi (talk) 17:24, 7 December 2023 (UTC)
- That edit was made 10 years ago when the standards were considerably lower. The rule for adding Trivia nowadays is that it requires proof from the creator regardless of how obvious it is. I've removed it on the Flapjack page too for lack of proof on original edit.

Translation for your Machina_charge_damage_chart image
Hello GrampaSwood! :D I was going to translate the image you did in a Excel (in fact I did it before read the summary). But once I read it I prefered to contact with you as you suggest first.
Anyway if you want to use the image I translated, I used the TF2 font :P Or do you think is better to keep the same font? Anyway, you have the translated text in the image. As said, I was going to translate/upload the image by my own, but when I read the image summary I decided to contact with you first, due you created the original image :) Best regards! -- Ryo567 | 12:42, 9 December 2023 (UTC)
