The EMP Grenade was intended to be a grenade weapon for the Engineer. Its function would likely have been the same as in Team Fortress Classic, in which it would detonate explosives and ammo and instantly destroy enemy buildings upon detonation. It may have been scrapped because it was thought to be too powerful, although it should be noted that all grenades were ultimately scrapped.
