A Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker é uma arma corpo-a-corpo para o Demoman. It appears as a rustic single bladed axe once wielded by the Horseless Headless Horsemann. It is covered in notches and sports a malevolently grinning face, similar to the face commonly carved on pumpkins for Halloween.

This weapon does not drop randomly and cannot be purchased from the Mann Co. Store. It can only be acquired by crafting. It is a remodel of the Eyelander; it deals the same damage, has the same function times, and has the ability to increase the player's speed and maximum health upon decapitating another player. Additionally, if the player manages to decapitate another Demoman wielding the Eyelander or this weapon, both the enemy's accumulated head count and the head of the decapitated Demoman will be added to the killing player's head count.

This item can only be crafted using the Unusual Haunted Metal Scrap, acquired from the Gored! achievement.

Trivia

• Although the axe glows when the Horseless Headless Horsemann uses the axe, the same glow is not present when equipped by the Demoman.
• Like the Scotsman's Skullcutter, the axe does not have a taunt.
• The same kill icon is used for both the Horseless Headless Horsemann and the Demoman when getting a kill with the axe.
• Because the axe can only be crafted using the achievement-earned Unusual Haunted Metal Scrap, the Unusual Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker cannot be traded, unless gifted by Gift Wrap.
  • Axes crafted prior to the to the Gift Wrap update, however, are tradable.
• While equipped, the axe randomly whisper "heads" during the game, just like the Eyelander.
• The axe is currently the only weapon which can be unusual, and is not known to exist in any other quality.
  • Despite being labeled as an unusual weapon, the Unusual Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker has no associated particle effect.
• The axe carried by the Horseless Headless Horsemann is much bigger than the one carried by the Demoman.
