"Saluting the Fallen" is one of the song titles featured on the official Team Fortress 2 Soundtrack, listed as track number 33. Added in the May 1, 2020 Patch, it is a tribute to Rick May, voice actor of the Soldier, who passed away on April 8, 2020.

Trivia

• This is one of the two known tributes to Rick May added by Valve to the game following his passing on April 8, 2020. The other was a statue added to several Maps.
• This is a rendition of Taps, a classic horn melody used at funerals and memorials in the United States Armed Forces.
• From May 1st 2020 to May 31st 2020, when starting up the game after applying the update, the track will play on the Main Menu alongside the Soldier class image.
