The Club is a scrapped melee weapon for the Sniper class. It was eventually replaced by the Kukri, although the game's code still acknowledges the Sniper's melee weapon as a 'club', as seen in Team Fortress 2 Stats and the display for the HLStatsX addon. It is thought that the weapon was scrapped not long after it's development as its textures appear to be lower quality and mapped incorrectly, indicating not much time was spent on the model.
A club did make into the game later, as Team Fortress 2 states that the Pain Train is a makeshift club.
