Podczas Scream Fortress VIII
- Wszyscy gracze, którzy uruchomią grę otrzymają Gargulca Dusz, jeśli nie otrzymali go podczas zeszłorocznego wydarzenia.
- Daje dostęp do Merasmisji i haloweenowych transmutacji.
- Śledzi postęp Merasmisji i zebranych dusz.
- Dodano 3 nowe Merasmisje dla nowych map.
- Wypełnianie Merasmisji przyzna graczom klasyczny halloweenowy przedmiot i szansę na zdobycie Skrzyni Gęsiej Skórki.
- Szansa na otrzymanie przedmiotu w jakości Nietypowy Okaz poprzez otwieranie skrzynek została zwiększona podczas wydarzenia.
- Wszystkie Skrzynie i Skrzynki Mann Co. będą przyznawać przedmioty w jakości Nietypowy Okaz z efektami z Halloween 2016 zamiast normalnych nietypowych efektów.

- Kryteria wyszukiwania są teraz zapisywane ręcznie, aby dać graczom większą kontrolę nad domyślnymi ustawieniami, gdy gra jest uruchomiona.
- PD zdobyte w meczach Trybu swobodnego zostało skorygowane tak, aby lepiej nagradzało graczy za ich osobisty wkład w mecz.
- PD za punkt zostało przywrócone do 6.5 PD za punkt.
- PD zdobyte za zakończenie meczu i wykonywanie celów jest teraz skalowane w oparciu o wynik gracza w stosunku do całkowitej ilości punktów zdobytych przez wszystkich.

- Ulepszono kilka aspektów tekstur (angielski) obsługiwanych przez klientów OS X i Linux'a.
- Powinno to zmniejszyć ilość błędów „Brak wolnej pamięci” dla graczy używających opcji wysokiej jakości tekstur, zwłaszcza podczas zmiany mapy.
- Gracze, którzy wciąż natykają się na ten błąd mogą zmniejszyć jakość tekstur do średnich lub niskich, aby znacznie poprawić stabilność gry w oczekiwaniu na dalsze poprawki.
- Naprawiono brakującą teksturę na

- Zaktualizowano kilka plików dźwiękowych Merasmusa nie odgrywanych prawidłowo.
- Zaktualizowano pliki lokalizacyjne.
