The Crowbar was a scrapped melee weapon for Team Fortress 2. It is likely that it was intended to be the standard melee weapon for all classes, just as in Team Fortress Classic, but was scrapped upon deciding each class should possess unique melee weapons. This hypothesis is reinforced by the model's quality and polygon count, indicating it was scrapped early on, before the developers started working with a higher polygon allowance.
Trivia
- The Crowbar's sounds are re-used for many of the weapons, including the Critical hit.
- The Crowbar uses the same textures as the Crowbar in Half-Life.
