— The Demoman to the beheaded Soldier
|
” |
The Scotsman's Skullcutter is a community-made melee weapon for the Demoman. It is a bloodied battle-axe with a wooden shaft and spiked crossguard.
Like the Eyelander, this weapon has a large melee range and will decapitate enemies. It does not collect heads, though, so it does not provide additional health or speed when it kills an enemy player. Instead, it deals 20% more damage and can deal random critical hits. A single critical hit will kill any class that isn't overhealed, excluding the Heavy.
As the axe appears to have considerable weight, it will slow the Demoman down from 280 units/second, 93% of normal speed, to 238 units/second, 78% of normal speed. This is 8 units/second faster than a Heavy and 2 units/second slower than a Soldier, making him the second slowest class while the weapon is equipped.
The creator, Template:Steam profile link, also contributed the kill icon.

Trivia
- Most of the Quake World Team Fortress's classes, including the Demoman, used a battle-axe as their melee weapon.
- Like the Eyelander, this weapon still has blood on it in the censored version of Team Fortress 2, whereas the Übersaw and Axtinguisher are clean and bloodless.
- NeoDement submitted a custom taunt animation for the Scotsman's Skullcutter, which has not been implemented.
