The Frag Grenade, or Fragmentation Grenade, is a scrapped grenade weapon for all classes, with the exception of the Scout. It's an average Frag Grenade, but with a team-colored paint mark on its handle. The design (but not model) of this Frag Grenade is nearly identical from the Frag Grenades as seen on the Soldier.
As mentioned above, the Soldier carries two frag grenades on his belt, but no longer serve any gameplay purpose aside from either being juggled via the Soldier's various backpacks, Righteous Bison, or Saxxy taunt, or being ripped off his bandolier via the Equalizer's & the Escape Plan's Grenade taunt, thus activating the pin so the Soldier blows himself up along with any nearby enemies.
Trivia
- There are 7 Frag Grenades that appear on the 2nd shelf at the Mann vs. Machine Upgrade Station.
- However, none of them have a team-colored paint mark on their handles.
- There is an unused throwing sound effect that can be found in Team Fortress 2's files. It is the same sound used when the player throws grenades in Day of Defeat: Source.
