"Soldier of Dance" is based on klezmer music, which is music originating from Jewish dance traditions. The track's composition includes fast flourishes and scales, chromatic enclosures, plus use of the harmonic and melodic minor scales, all of which are common characteristics of the tradition.
"Soldier of Dance" fits best into an ABA song form with an 8-measure interlude after the B section, with trumpet, accordion, fiddle/violins, and principally clarinet playing the melody for the full duration of the track. The accompaniment instruments fulfill a standard "oom-pah" style for most of the track as well, only stopping during interludes of the melody. While the track is fully notated, unlike the typically improvised nature of klezmer music, the overall texture and energy of the track is generally accurate to the tradition.
