The Scotsman's Skullcutter is a community-made melee weapon for the Demoman. It appears as a bloodied battle-axe with a wooden shaft and spiked handguard.
This weapon functions similarly to the Eyelander in that it has a large melee range and will decapitate enemies. However, as it does not collect heads, it does not provide additional health or speed when an enemy player is killed. Instead it is able to deal 20% more damage and is able to receive random Critical hits.
As the axe appears to have considerable weight, it will slow the Demoman down from 280 units/second (93% of normal speed) to 238 units/second (78% of normal speed). This is 8 units/second faster than a Heavy and 2 units/second slower than a Soldier, making him the second slowest class while the weapon is equipped. The speed penalty also decreases the speed of a charge when used with the Chargin' Targe, reducing it from 750 units/second to 638. Furthermore, due to this slower charge speed, less actual distance is covered from a charge.

Update history
- Given a kill icon.
- Given a slight visual update to improve the texture quality.
Bugs
- A Spy who is disguised as a Demoman with the Skullcutter equipped will not have his movement speed reduced by 15%.
Trivia
- Most of the Team Fortress Quake mod's classes, including the Demoman, used a battle-axe as their melee weapon.
- Like the Eyelander, this weapon still has blood on it in the censored version of Team Fortress 2, whereas the Übersaw and Axtinguisher are clean and have no blood.
- There is an unused axe located in the backpack files that resembles the Skullcutter. They share the same texture and general shape.
- Based on the similar designs and file names, this might have been a prototype for the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker.
