The Bat Outta Hell is a community-created melee weapon for all classes except for the Engineer and Spy. It is a skull with a jiggleboned lower jaw attached to a spine segment.
This item has four styles, named "Universal", "Scout", "Demoman", and "Soldier". The "Universal" style is the basic unaltered version of the weapon. The "Scout" style outfits the skull with the Scout's hat and headpiece. The "Demoman" style adds the Demoman's skullcap and eyepatch. The "Soldier" style adds Soldier's helmet and cigar.
This weapon functions identically to the wielder's default melee weapon.
The Bat Outta Hell was originally contributed to the Steam Workshop under the name "Yorick's Lament".

- The name of this item is a reference to the idiom "a bat out of hell", usually used as a simile. "He got out of there like a bat out of hell" - i.e., very quickly. [1]
