The Fists of Steel are a melee weapon for the Heavy and were originally created in the Fancy vs. Nasty Update. They appear as a pair of large, medieval gauntlets that cover the Heavy's hands. They reduce damage from all sources that are not melee-based, instead of just ranged damage sources (i.e. projectiles) as indicated in the weapon description.

Bugs
- Parts of the Heavy's hands clip outside of the Fists of Steel when viewed by a player from the outside world.
- The Fists of Steel makes the K.G.B.'s draw sound.
- Damage from taunt attacks are also reduced, even if they appear to be a melee attack.

December 20, 2010 (item server update): Fists of Steel is added to the Mann Co. Store, made craftable, and included in random drops.
Trivia
- The name "Fists of Steel" is most likely a reference to the Heavy's (unused) line for unlocking a new weapon.
- The original Fists of Steel also came with a unique sound set, making the fists seem more robotic. In the game, however, they retain the same sounds as the Killing Gloves of Boxing when being equipped but the punches have a custom metallic sound.
