— The Demoman on ammo's healing benefits
|
” |
The Persian Persuader is a melee weapon for the Demoman. It is a Template:W with a brass hilt and a bloodied blade.
Having the weapon equipped doubles the recharge rate of the charge of the Chargin' Targe and Splendid Screen, allowing for more frequent charging. In addition, it converts any ammo collected into health. Ammo collected from Dispensers, the cart and resupply is not converted into health.
Similar to the Eyelander, this weapon has a large melee range and cannot roll for random critical hits.
Taunting with the Persian Persuader will perform the Demoman's Decapitation kill taunt.

Update history
June 23, 2011 Patch (Über Update)
- The Persian Persuader was added to the game.
- Added/Refined recoil/draw/crit/reload forces for all of the new weapons in the Uber Update.
Bugs
- A player wielding this weapon will always pick up ammo boxes and fallen weapons, even when at full health and ammo.
- In first-person view, the weapon clips the Demoman's ring finger, and the pinkie finger does not grip the handle. This is because the weapon uses the same hand posing as the Saxxy.
- When the Demoman swings this weapon, he will slash with the blunt side of the blade, rather than the sharp side.
- While performing the Decapitation taunt, the Demoman appears to hold the weapon by its hilt, which clips through his hand.
- The Demoman will briefly wield the Persian Persuader with his two-handed weapon world model at the beginning and end of the Decapitation taunt.
Trivia
- The creator of both the Persian Persuader and the Sultan's Ceremonial had intended them to be a reference to the Template:W.[1]
- The Loch Ness Monster is forged in the hilt.
