The Beer stein is a scrapped melee weapon. Due to the mesh's German appearance, it may have been intended for the Medic; alternatively, it may have been intended for the Demoman as an early replacement for the Bottle. A community update called the Medieval Update released some custom models along with a Medieval-styled beerstein
