The Bat Outta Hell is a melee weapon for all classes except for the Engineer and Spy. It is a skull with a jiggleboned lower jaw attached to a backbone.
This item can only be worn around Halloween or during a Full Moon; at other times of the year, it does not appear in gameplay, unless the server has Halloween mode enabled. However, it can be equipped at any time and can still be viewed on the loadout screen even when it is not visible during games.
This item functions identically to the wielder's default melee weapon.

- The Bat Outta Hell was added to the game.
Bugs
- This weapon uses the incorrect skins in client view.
- This item's level does not show up in the backpack or loadout. This is because the item type is assigned to a text string that does not exist.
- This item's style names label as #TF_Skullbat_Style0, #TF_Skullbat_Style1, #TF_Skullbat_Style2 and #TF_Skullbat_Style3.
- The item does not have a unique kill icon, and instead uses the default icon.
- If the Soldier or Heavy call for a Medic, and perform the call animation, the Bat Outta Hell will move out of place into the air.
Trivia
- The name of this item is a reference to the idiom "a bat out of hell", usually used as a simile. "He got out of there like a bat out of hell" - i.e., very quickly. [1]
