The Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker is a melee weapon for the Demoman class. It appears as a rustic single bladed axe once wielded by the Horseless Headless Horsemann. It is covered in notches and sports a malevolently grinning face.

This item is similar to the Eyelander in damage and attributes. Just like the Eyelander, it does increase the player's speed and maximum health upon decapitating another player, and if the player manages to decapitate another Demoman who is wielding the Eyelander or the Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker, the enemy's accumulated head count will be added to the player's, as well as the enemy's individual head. It will only drop with the Unusual rarity name color. This item can be crafted using the Unusual Haunted Metal Scrap, acquired from the Gored! achievement.

Trivia

• Although the axe glows when the Horseless Headless Horsemann uses the axe, the same glow is not present when equipped.
• Much like the Scotsman's Skullcutter, the axe does not have a taunt (aside from the Thriller taunt in effect for the Halloween event)
• The same kill icon is used for both the Horseless Headless Horsemann and the Demoman when getting a kill with the axe.
• Because the axe can only be crafted using the achievement-earned Unusual Haunted Metal Scrap, the Unusual Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker cannot be traded, unless gifted by Gift Wrap. This was later updated, however, and can now be traded.
• The axe is much the same as the Eyelander but the model and kill icon are different.
• The axe can be crafted with 2 Refined Metals to create one of the two 2010 Hallowe'en hats.
• This is the first re-skin of an unlockable weapon (the Eyelander).
