Mecha Update a fost o actualizare majoră pentru Team Fortress 2 eliberată în 20 Decemberie, 2012.
Actualizarea a fost anunțată în 19 Decemberie, 2012. A fost anunțată adaugarea clasei finale Mann vs. Machine, Mecha-Engineer, precum și harta Big Rock. Include adițional revista Shadow Boxers, și anunța adăugarea armelor Rescue Ranger, Loose Cannon și Vaccinator, pentru Engineer, Demoman, respectiv Medic. În final, actualizarea a anunțat întoarecerea cutiilor Nice și Naughty Winter Crates.

- The preview page of the Mecha Update is directly based off the movie poster of the Japanese, sci-fi kaiju film, "Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II".
- The strips of paper with numbers and blocks on the page are formatted as a punch card. When decoded, it reveals the message, "UPDATE IMMINENT DECEMBER 20 2012"
- The middle screen of the Mecha-Engineer poster that says, "Hats, all your ha_" is a reference to the meme "All your base are belong to us" from the videogame Zero Wing.
