Ah, that's the stuff!
The Demoman on ammo's healing benefits

The Persian Persuader is a melee weapon for the Demoman. It is a Template:W with a brass hilt and a bloodied blade.

Having the weapon equipped doubles the recharge rate of the charge of the Chargin' Targe and Splendid Screen, allowing for more frequent charging. In addition, it converts any ammo collected into health. This only affects ammo pickups, building gibs, and dropped weapons; ammo cannot be collected from Dispensers and carts. Resupply lockers are unaffected.

Similar to the Eyelander, this weapon has a large melee range and cannot roll for random critical hits unless forced by Kritzkrieg, Victory, Chargin' Targe or Splendid Screen.

Taunting with the Persian Persuader will perform the Demoman's Decapitation kill taunt.

October 13, 2011 Patch (Manniversary Update & Sale)

  • [Undocumented] The Persian Persuader can no longer receive ammo from dispensers or the cart; in addition the amount of health received from fallen weapons and destroyed buildings has been reduced significantly.

Bugs

  • In first-person view, the weapon clips the Demoman's ring finger, and the pinkie finger does not grip the handle. This is because the weapon uses the same hand posing as the Saxxy.
  • When the Demoman swings this weapon, he will slash with the blunt side of the blade, rather than the sharp side.
  • While performing the Decapitation taunt, the Demoman appears to hold the weapon by its hilt, which clips through his hand.
    • The Demoman will briefly wield the Persian Persuader with his two-handed weapon world model at the beginning and end of the Decapitation taunt.
  • Killing someone with the Stickybomb Launcher while wielding this weapon will result in a Persian Persuader based voice-response rather than a Stickybomb Launcher based one.
