==Trivia==

* Bushwhacking was a form of guerrilla warfare common during the American Revolutionary War, American Civil War and other conflicts in which there are large areas of contested land and few governmental resources to control these tracts.

* To "bushwhack" someone is also a term that means to kill them.

* Unlike most of the other Polycount items, the Bushwacka does not have a unique kill icon. It uses the [[Tribalman's Shiv]] kill icon.

* The Bushwacka is a possible reference to the knife used in Crocodile Dundee's famous [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01NHcTM5IA4 "This is a knife!"] scene, as it looks roughly similar.

* The Bushwacka appears to resemble a [[Wikipedia:Bowie knife|Bowie Knife]].

* The Bushwacka performs a Crit animation even when striking a friendly player covered in Jarate.

Now this is a knife!
The Sniper

The Bushwacka is a community-created melee weapon for the Sniper. It is an enormous Bowie knife with a serrated spine, a small hole near the back of the blade, and a wooden handle with brass pommel and guard.

When attacking with this weapon in a situation where it would normally deliver a mini-crit, such as against a Jarate-sodden foe or when buffed via the Buff Banner, it instead performs a critical hit. On the other hand, this weapon cannot deal random critical hits and the Sniper has an additional 20% damage vulnerability to all sources while the weapon is active.

The kill icon for the Bushwacka was contributed by Psyke .
