The Loch-n-Load is a primary weapon for the Demoman and was released as part of the The Expert's Ordnance set. It appears as a break-action Grenade Launcher, with separate barrels for each of the two grenades it fires.

The weapon fires grenades that travel at approximately 1331 Hammer units per second, or around 56 miles per hour. These grenades inflict slightly more damage upon a direct hit, however the grenades will shatter harmlessly upon hitting anything other than an enemy. The grenades additionally deal increased self-damage to the Demoman who fired them, making short-range attacks more hazardous.

The Loch-n-Load (pronounced "lock" as a pun, or with Scottish accent lɒx) is a community-created primary weapon for the Demoman. It is a double-barreled break-action grenade launcher.

This weapon fires grenades that travel at approximately 1513 Hammer units per second (roughly 105 km/h or 65 mph) and do not tumble mid flight, meaning they travel 25% faster than stock grenades and experience less drag in flight, greatly increasing their overall range. These grenades inflict 20% more damage than the Grenade Launcher to buildings upon a direct hit. Grenades explode as normal if they strike an enemy, strike a building, or if the fuse expires; however, if they hit anything else before then, they shatter, dealing no damage or push force. Additionally, the Loch-n-Load only holds 3 grenades (instead of 4) and each grenade has a 25% reduced splash radius, making it less effective on clustered enemies.

* The weapon attributes do not mention that launched grenades do not tumble mid-flight.
* The Loch-n-Load uses the same reload animation as the Grenade Launcher, making it appear as if the Demoman is loading grenades into the side of the barrel.

* Grenades fired bounce off certain dynamic surfaces such as the moving walkways of Nucleus, as well as teammates.

* The sight has been moved up the barrel, and is therefore not properly clipped into the correct position.

** However, if a player dies while holding the Loch-n-Load, the dropped weapon's sight appears in the correct position.

Loch-n-Load publicity blurb

The Loch-n-Load (pronounced "lock" as a pun, or with Scottish accent /lɒx/) is a community-created primary weapon for the Demoman.

The kill icon for the Loch-n-Load was contributed by Psyke .

    • The Loch-n-Load name's also could be a reference to its similarities to the China Lake Grenade Launcher or the Demoman's obsession to blow up the Loch Ness Monster.
  • Unlike the Grenade Launcher, the Demoman holds the end of the Loch-n-Load slightly above the crosshair, giving the appearance of firing at an arc. This does not affect the grenade's trajectory.
