The Sydney Sleeper is an unlockable primary weapon for the Sniper class, replacing the Sniper Rifle.
It is almost identical to the Sniper Rifle in that it can be scoped, with the same damage output. However, upon going over 50% charge, the shot will cause a Jarate effect on the target for 8 seconds. This weapon lacks the ability to perform Headshots. Headshots still register with the associated kill icon, but they do not count as a Critical hit.
This gun also makes up for this with the chance to randomly fire a Critical, an ability not normal in the Sniper's other primary weapons.
Damage
- Unscoped Shot: 45-50
- Scoped (0% Charge): 45-50
- Scoped (50% Charge): 70-80 (Jarate effect starts)
- Scoped (75% Charge): 90-110 (Bullet starts to go through multiple bodies)
- Scoped (100% Charge): 130-160
- Mini-Crit: 68 (0% charge or unscoped), 203 (100% charge)
- Critical hit: 150 (0% charge or unscoped), 450 (100% charge)
Function times
- Attack Interval: 1.5
- There is a 200 ms delay before a zoomed Sniper shot can get a Critical hit
Item set
This item is part of the Croc-o-Style Kit. When the entire set is worn, the set provides this additional bonus:
- The wearer cannot be killed by headshots

Trivia
- At the moment the Sydney Sleeper is capable of hitting multiple targets with one shot. If the user fires a fully charged shot at an enemy player while another opponent is standing closely behind the intended target, the second opponent will also be hit with the shot. Thus allowing a fully charged Sniper to possibly take out a Medic combo with 1 fully charged, well placed shot.
- The gun's piercing effect is able to pierce through more than 12 players.
- 'Template:W' is the capital of New South Wales, Australia and contrary to popular belief, not the capital of Australia as a whole, that crown belongs to Template:W.
- Even though it supposedly shoots darts, the Sydney Sleeper is a hitscan weapon.
- This is the second primary weapon to change a cosmetic feature on the player (i.e. the dart pack on Snipers chest) after the Huntsman.
- Originally, the Sniper Rifle would randomly Crit when it would bodyshot. The Sydney Sleeper, can now also randomly Crit when a bodyshot (or even headshot) is made.
