The Demoman

The Loch-n-Load is a secondary weapon for the Demoman and was released as part of the The Expert's Ordnance set. It appears as a break-action Grenade Launcher, with separate barrels for each of the two grenades it fires.

The grenades fired by the Loch-n-Load are much faster and inflict slightly more damage, but deal increased self-damage to the Demoman who fired them. The grenades will shatter harmlessly if they hit something other than an enemy player.

Bugs

  • The Loch-n-Load uses the same reload animation as the Grenade Launcher, thus making it appear as if the Demoman is putting the grenades on the side of the barrel instead of in it.
  • The Loch-n-Load has been known to bounce off certain dynamic surfaces (such as the moving walkways of Nucleus), as well as opposing team players, and also players on your team.
  • The Loch-n-Load's sight has been moved up the barrel, and is therefore not properly clipped into the correct position.

Trivia

  • The Loch-n-Load's name is a word play on the phrase "lock and load", a slang military command to prepare firearms for battle. The word "loch" is a Gaelic word for "lake", and is a reference to bodies of water such as Loch Ness in Scotland.
