Now this is a knife!!
The Sniper

The Bushwacka is a craftable melee weapon for the Sniper class. It is a long sharp blade with a serrated spine and gold guard.

When swinging this weapon in a situation where it would normally deliver a Mini-Crit, it will instead do a full-blown Critical hit. This makes it devastating when paired with Jarate or a friendly Buff Banner, or when a target previously hit with the Sydney Sleeper gets too close. On the other hand, the Sniper will have an additional 20% vulnerability to fire, making Pyros a more prominent adversary.

Trivia

  • Bushwhacking was a form of guerrilla warfare common during the American Revolutionary War, American Civil War and other conflicts in which there are large areas of contested land and few governmental resources to control these tracts.
  • To "bushwhack" someone is also a term that means to kill them.
  • Unlike most of the other Polycount items, the Bushwacka does not have a unique kill icon. It uses the Tribalman's Shiv kill icon.
  • The Bushwacka is a possible reference to the knife used in Crocodile Dundee's famous "This is a knife!" scene, as it looks roughly similar.
  • The Bushwacka appears to resemble a Bowie Knife.
  • The Bushwacka performs a Crit animation even when striking a friendly player covered in Jarate.
