Let's have a go, ya mug!
The Sniper

The Bushwacka is an unlockable, community-made weapon added in the Polycount Update that replaces the Sniper's Kukri. Carrying it makes the Sniper more vulnerable to fire, taking 20% more damage. On the other hand, if the weapon is swung and would normally do a Mini-Crit, it will instead do a full-blown Critical hit. This makes it deadly when paired with Jarate or a friendly Buff Banner. Also handy if a target you have shot with the Sydney Sleeper gets too close.

Notes

  • Bushwhacking was a form of guerrilla warfare common during the American Revolutionary War, American Civil War and other Conflicts in which there are large areas of contested land and few Governmental Resources to control these tracts.
  • To 'bushwhack" someone is also a term that means to kill them.
  • Unlike most of the other Polycount items, the Bushwacka doesn't have a unique kill icon. It uses the Tribalman's Shiv kill icon.
  • The Bushwaka is a possible reference to the knife used in Crocodile Dundee's famous "Is That a Knife?" scene, as it looks roughly similar.
  • The Bushwacka appears to resemble a Bowie Knife
  • Due to the sniper's Australian background, the weapon is phonetically spelt to reflect his accent. This phenomenon is known as a non-rhotic pronunciation
