Right about now you must be wondering how in God's name you're supposed to pronounce Claidheamohmor. The answer: you don't! If you're remotely near one you'll be dead long before you're done injuring your vocal chords anyway!
Fancy vs. Nasty Update description

The Claidheamh Mòr is a melee weapon for the Demoman. It is a Template:W similar to the Eyelander that has a crossguard with side rings, a red and green Template:W wrapped around the grip and a blood-spattered blade. Like the Eyelander, the Claidheamh Mòr also has a large melee range.

The weapon was originally created for the Fancy vs. Nasty Update and has since been officially added to the game.

Previous Changes

December 21, 2010 Patch

  • Changed the name from Claidheamohmor to the proper Gaelic spelling Claidheamh Mòr "to the joy of our Celtic players".

Trivia

  • Claidheamh mòr is the Template:W form of Template:W (literally "sword big"). It is pronounced "clai" (as in the name "Claire") - "v" (or "ph") - "more".
  • Although it is named after the Scottish Template:W, it appears to be more closely modeled after a Swiss or German Template:W with parrierhaken guards above the Template:W.
