The Ye Olde Baker Boy is an unlockable headwear item for the Scout. It appears as a brown tweed cap, with a stiff brim, soft fabric crown and a button on top.

Trivia

  • The Baker boy is also known as a Newsboy Cap, an Apple Cap, an Eight-Panel, a Jay Gatsby, a Fisherman's Cap, and a Lundburg Stetson.
  • The Baker boy is commonly associated with Newspaper boys, also called newsboys or "newsies." These were the main distributors of newspapers to the general public from the mid-19th to the early 20th century in the United States. Standing on street corners, walking through neighborhoods, and hawking their papers throughout every city, they first appeared with the rise of mass circulation newspapers. Newsboys tended to be among the poorest individuals of society, often seen sleeping on the streets.
  • The Baker boy is used by Russian teenage street lawbreakers called "Gopniki" (Гопники).
  • Newsboys were known for being loud and intrusive, much like the Scout.
  • One such newsboy worth particular mention was the charismatic leader of the 1899 Newsboy strike, Kid Blink, nicknamed so due to the fact that he was blind in one eye and wore an eyepatch. He was known for having his thick accent quoted in the papers when he stood up to newspaper giants "The World" and "The Globe." The Scout would've liked him.
