General strategy
- This is a Player Destruction map; see Community Player Destruction strategy.
- This map features Skeletons; see Community Skeletons strategy.
- This Halloween map features pumpkin bombs and Halloween pumpkins; see Community Halloween maps strategy.
Class-specific strategy
Scout
- Be ready to enter the underworld to deposit souls.
- Using the Pit flanks can help secure kills.
- The Back Scatter will help secure kills faste.
- If you are low on health, there is a Large Medkit on the Broken Bridge. Using Mad Milk or a Pretty Boy's Pocket Pistol can also give health back if needed.
Soldier
Pyro
- Using the Pit flanks can help secure kills.
- The Thermal Thruster can be an easy flank tool as long as there are you are not in sentry range or any Snipers watching the skies
Demoman
Heavy
- Well-timed use of your Second Banana permits you to stay in the Underworld indefinitely; ambushing the enemy, killing them before they can deliver souls they are carrying and them any Rare Magic Spells.
- However, the time you have to juggle between spin up, spin down, Sandvich switch, and Sandvich Taunt, coupled with your low speed means it may be best to let teammates pickup the rare magic spell and any souls you shoot down in the Underworld.
Engineer
- Placing Sentry or Mini-Sentry near the pit will allow you to control the pit area and the flanks.
- If Soldiers or Demomen know your location they will try to bomb you and your sentry down.
- You can counter Soldiers and Demomen with the Wrangler's Shield can tank Rockets, Grenades and Stickies.
- Using the Short Circuit to remove Rockets, Grenades and Stickies can avoid damage altogether, but if you do not have a Dispenser you may run out of ammo.
Medic
- Stay with your teammates especially with the team leader as they can heal you
Sniper
Spy
- Theres no shame in hiding near flanks or camping the Pit to kill the enemy team leader.
