For the non-promotional taunt, see Table Tantrum.
Finally, it is done!
The Heavy cooking a perfectly moist steak

The Boiling Point is a promotional special taunt for the Heavy.

It functions almost identically to the Table Tantrum, but features a Joule sous vide cooker instead of a steel pot. The cooker boils a single steak wrapped in plastic, which Heavy catches in his mouth during the taunt, and plays a unique dinging noise upon conclusion of the taunt; the same noise the actual cooker plays when it finishes preparing its food.

This item was awarded in Genuine quality to players who purchased the Joule sous vide cooker and redeemed the promotional code given to them.

Update history

December 21, 2016 Patch #1 (Smissmas 2016)

  • [Undocumented] The Boiling Point was added to the game.

December 16, 2020 Patch

  • Fixed not being able to use Taunt: The Table Tantrum Unusualifier on Taunt: The Boiling Point.

December 21, 2022 Patch

  • Updated the Taunt: The Boiling Point to add missing voice lines when flipping the table.

Trivia

  • Gabe Newell helped fund the creation of Joule's sous-vide cooker after winning a dinner prepared by the company's CEO at an auction at his son's school. He regularly had contact with the company and CEO, leading to the promotional collaboration.

Bugs

  • The Heavy can be pushed away from his table if he is knocked back with knockback, such as from a melee attack, compression blast, or a pushed by a Payload cart. Once the table is flipped, the Heavy and the table do their respective animations separately.
    • This also occurs if the taunt is initiated while standing on an active teleporter entrance; the Heavy is teleported, but the table is not.
