The weapon functions in exactly the same way as the standard Minigun. It is able to fire 10 ammo per second, but has a large cone of fire and individual bullets suffer damage falloff with range. For each 1 ammo, the gun fires 4 bullets; if all 200 ammo count is fired, that equals 800 bullets. In order to fire, the gun requires approximately one second for the barrel to revolve at the correct speed before being ready. Players can begin spinning the barrel without firing by holding down secondary fire. While either spinning or firing, the Heavy's movement speed is slowed considerably (to 37% speed) and he is unable to jump. Furthermore, the Heavy cannot move while both crouched and spinning or firing.

Latest revision as of 17:56, 3 June 2024

For the achievement of a similar name, see Heavy achievements.
The Heavy has spared no expense in crafting this historic tribute to the mother land. Forged from Soviet iron and inlaid with the remaindered mahogany from Alexander II's favorite chair, each kill is not only for "pride of team," but for the Republic.
Iron Curtain publicity blurb

The Iron Curtain is a promotional primary weapon for the Heavy. It is a minigun made out of wood and metal, with identifiable features such as a hammer and sickle emblem visible on the ammo casing and a smoking vent on the side. It was supposedly crafted by the Heavy himself.

This weapon functions identically to the Minigun.

This item is awarded to players of Poker Night at the Inventory for defeating the Heavy during a round in which he has bought in with the item instead of cash. As of May 23, 2019, the game has been removed from sale. However, owners of that game may still obtain its promotional items.

The kill icon for the Iron Curtain was contributed by Psyke .
