The Ambassador is the unlockable primary weapon for the Spy class, replacing the Revolver. It has the same ammo count as the Revolver but has accuracy akin to a Sniper Rifle, even at long range. In addition, a headshot with the Ambassador will result in a Critical hit; otherwise, the weapon will never score a Critical hit. After each shot, the weapon's accuracy is temporarily decreased, so the weapon is inaccurate if fired too quickly. When the Ambassador is still in this temporary 'cooldown' period, a headshot will not result in a Critical hit, even if it is accurate.

The Ambassador does 15% less damage, does not apply random critical hits, the critical hits and mini-crit damage are affected by distance falloff, and fires at a slower rate than the default Revolver. There are two sorts of men in this world: the sort with blood pouring out of a hole in their heads, and the sort holding the Ambassador.
Ambassador publicity blurb

The Ambassador is an unlockable secondary weapon for the Spy. It is a large-frame stylized revolver made of 3.6 kilograms (or 8 pounds) of steel[1] with a deep team-colored (red for RED, brown for BLU) rosewood grip, and an engraving of a reclining woman on the barrel. It has hollow point bullets loaded into the cylinder.

The Ambassador does 15% less damage, does not apply random critical hits, the critical hits and mini-crit damage are affected by distance falloff, and fires at a slower rate than the default Revolver. However, it has a quicker spread recovery compared to the Revolver and deals critical hits on a headshot. There is a short period after firing, indicated by an enlarged crosshair in the HUD, where the Ambassador has greatly decreased accuracy and cannot deal critical damage on a headshot, therefore it is most useful for those with steady aim. Headshots beyond 1200 Hammer units deal normal damage instead of a critical hit.

The Ambassador is automatically given to any player who obtains 5 Spy achievements.
