It chops! It slices! It causes disfiguring burns!
Third Degree publicity blurb

The Third Degree is a melee weapon for the Pyro. It is a team-colored retro-futuristic Fire Axe with a white-hot coil in lieu of a sharpened edge.

The weapon has the ability to deal damage not only to the enemy being struck, but also to any players healing or being healed by the target with Medic healing beams. The effect is a chain reaction; all players that are connected by the beams will be damaged. Damage vulnerabilities and resistances, such as those from the Fists of Steel and the Powerjack, are not transferred to other players in the chain.

Taunting with the Third Degree will play a heavy metal guitar sound alongside the Pyro's usual mumbling.

The Third Degree was later contributed to the Steam Workshop, at Valve's request.
