The Genuine item quality was originally introduced alongside the RIFT promotion as to distinguish items obtained through participation in a cross-game promotion or an in-game event, opposed to the same items gained via other methods such as random drops or crafting. Cosmetic items with the genuine quality can be strangified, but their names and the item in the user's backpack will keep the genuine quality color instead of changing into the strange quality color, and will still display the item's rank as a normal strange would do. This allows the creation of an item with two qualities at the same time.
The hexadecimal color code for Genuine items is #4D7455.
