— The Engineer on the Pyro's new weapon.
|
” |
The Homewrecker is a community-made melee weapon for the Pyro. It appears as a large, two-handed sledgehammer.
When wielded, the weapon is able to deal essentially double damage to an enemy Engineer's buildings. The Homewrecker is also able to destroy an Electro Sapper attached to a friendly building with a single swing. Unlike the Engineer's melee weapons, the Homewrecker cannot repair damaged buildings. Additionally, the Homewrecker will deal 25% less damage to enemies.
As buildings are now more reinforced against damage from the Flamethrower, the Homewrecker is a more suitable weapon for destroying Dispensers and Teleporters quickly. A Sentry Gun proves to be the most difficult building to destroy due to knockback and continual fire. A Pyro aided by a Medic should be able to take down most Sentry Guns, especially with an ÜberCharge.

Damage
The damage of the Homewrecker is such that it will destroy all Buildings within two swings (the Combat Mini-sentry requiring only one), provided the building is not repaired between the first swing and the second, and that the building is not being protected with a Wrangler. The Homewrecker also destroys enemy Sappers in one swing.
