重裝兵更新是重裝兵的相關重要更新，也是第三次的主要職業更新。專訪三明治影片也在此次更新中釋出。與火焰兵更新或醫護兵更新不同，重裝兵更新的官方頁面是每天的內容各被分配到一個獨立的頁面，此更新釋出於2008年8月19日。
在此更新中 Team Fortress 2 首次出現消耗品類武器 - 三明治。同時也新增減速效果的武器，遊戲模式則是增加競技場模式。
