This might look like an ordinary revolver, until you realize that it helps a talking dog solve crimes. How many crimes has YOUR dog solved lately? And let's face it, his revolver kind of sucks too. Man, we want to talk about this gun more, but we can't get over how much your dog sucks.
— Official Description

The Big Kill (Sam's Revolver) is a mock alternative to the Spy's Revolver. Simply being a reskin, the weapon has no unique stats from its counterpart. The weapon was given to players who bought Sam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse within the first week of its release.

Trivia

  • The actual Big Kill was about twice as large in the original comic books, often with the barrel bending under its own weight.
  • Sam's gun was not referred to in the Sam & Max series as "Big Kill" until being listed under this name in the notebook in episode 3 of season 3, "They Stole Max's Brain!." Sam refers to it then as "My 2nd best and 3rd most dangerous friend."
  • Although the Big Kill uses the Revolver's stats, the model itself is actually re-skin of the Ambassador, and also uses the Ambassador's animations.
  • The weapon closely resembles a combination between a Smith & Wesson Model 29 and a Colt Peacemaker.
  • The kill icon for the Big Kill was originally the same as the Revolver. This was changed to its current kill icon in the July 8, 2010 patch.
  • The Big Kill is one of only four loadout weapons that can not be crafted. The other three are the Lugermorph, the Frying Pan, and the Golden Wrench.
    • With the exception of the Golden Wrench, all of these are promotional items, and have the same stats as the default weapons
  • The Big Kill, along with the Lugermorph, were the first weapons that were considered unlocks, that shared the same stats with their classes default weapon.
  • The name 'Big Kill' was first used in an early drawing by Steve Purcell, the Creator of Sam & Max[1]
  • Some players wondered why the "Big Kill" was so big compared to the Spy's hand, thats because Valve wanted the weapons to have the style of the Sam and Max series.
  • The Big Kill, along with the Lugermorph and Max's Severed Head, are all tradable.
  • When the view screen size has been expanded to it's maximum, it is shown that the spy does not insert bullets into the cylinder.
