The Disciplinary Action is a melee weapon for the Soldier. It is a riding crop with an old wooden handle and a faded brown leather whip.
Upon striking a teammate with this weapon, both the Soldier and the receiving teammate will receive up to a 40% speed boost (capped at Scout speed) for four seconds. The boost is indicated by speed lines surrounding the affected class, visible both to them and any other players. As a downside, the riding crop deals 25% less damage to enemies. Multiple teammates can be boosted at once.

Update history
June 23, 2011 Patch (Über Update)
- The Disciplinary Action was added to the game.
- Added/Refined recoil/draw/crit/reload forces for all of the new weapons in the Uber Update
Bugs
- The weapon's description incorrectly displays the speed boost time as 1 second.
- The Disciplinary Action uses the Shovel's draw "click" sound effect and its Critical swing sound effect.
- The Disciplinary Action's model does not appear to have any physics - when the Soldier carrying it dies, the weapon will either disappear or float in mid-air.
Unused Content
- There is a second set of sounds for this weapon that remain unused.
Trivia
- The Disciplinary Action's name references the infamous Slapping Incident, in which General Patton struck a private, because he thought said private was feigning illness.
- The model for The Disciplinary Action is a 'hunting crop' which is not actually designed for use on horses, but rather to allow the rider to open and close gates via a hook without having to dismount.
- As a hidden attribute, the Disciplinary Action has longer range akin to the Eyelander.
