The Disciplinary Action is a community-made melee weapon for the Soldier. It is a Template:W with a wooden handle and a loose leather loop at the end.
This weapon has a 70% longer range than most melee weapons, slightly more so than the Eyelander. However, it delivers 25% less damage to enemies.
The main benefit of the Disciplinary Action is that upon striking a teammate with this weapon, both the Soldier and the teammate will receive up to a 40% speed boost (capped at 450 HU/s, 150% over the base speed) for 4 seconds. The boost is indicated by a wind breeze particle effect surrounding the affected class, visible both to them and any other players. Multiple teammates can be boosted at once. Disguised Spies will only be damaged by the weapon, and no boost will be bestowed to either party.

Update history
June 23, 2011 Patch (Über Update)
- The Disciplinary Action was added to the game.
- Added/Refined recoil/draw/crit/reload forces for all of the new weapons in the Über Update.
- [Item schema update] Changed positive attribute description from '1 sec' to 'several seconds'.
- [Undocumented] The damage penalty attribute was changed from "-25% damage done" to "-25% damage penalty".
Bugs
- This weapon will either disappear or float in mid-air due to it lacking physics when a wielding Soldier dies.
- The extra range allows the user to hit enemies completely behind himself.
- The speed boost does not correctly cap at the maximum of 450 HU/s (reaching as high as 505 HU/s) if:
- Mathematically the speed would be over 450 HU/s
- The player is moving forward and strafing at the same time
