The Disciplinary Action is a melee weapon for the Soldier. It is a Template:W with a wooden handle and a jiggle boned leather loop at the end.
Upon striking a teammate with this weapon, both the Soldier and the receiving teammate will receive up to a 40% speed boost (capped at Scout speed) for 4 seconds. The boost is indicated by speed lines surrounding the affected class, visible both to them and any other players. Multiple teammates can be boosted at once.
Additionally, the Disciplinary Action has a longer range than most melee weapons, almost akin to the Eyelander. However, it deals 25% less damage to enemies.

June 23, 2011 Patch (Über Update)
- The Disciplinary Action was added to the game.
- Added/Refined recoil/draw/crit/reload forces for all of the new weapons in the Über Update.
- [Item schema update] Changed positive attribute description from '1 sec' to 'several seconds'.
Bugs
- The Disciplinary Action uses the Shovel's draw sound effect and its Critical swing sound effect as well as the taunt sound effect.
- The weapon's model behaves oddly - when the Soldier carrying it dies, the weapon will either disappear or float in mid-air.
Unused Content
- There is a second set of sounds for this weapon that remain unused.
Trivia
- The Disciplinary Action's name references the infamous Slapping Incident, in which General Patton struck a private, believing he was feigning illness.
