Obtaining Engineer achievements
Battle Rustler Teleport 100 team members into battle. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: Always have a Teleporter system active, even if the distance it covers is relatively short. The more useful a Teleporter is, the more frequently it is used, so place the Teleporter Exit close to areas of conflict. If the distance between the Entrance and Exit is too short, points will not be awarded towards this achievement. |
Best Little Slaughterhouse in Texas Rack up 5000 kills with your sentry guns. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: This achievement will naturally be obtained after a large amount of time playing as the Engineer as the Sentry Gun makes up a large percentage of his firepower. |
Breaking Morant Kill 10 Snipers with a sentry gun under the control of your Wrangler. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: If you can harass an enemy Sniper using your Wrangler, they have a line of sight with which to return fire. Keep moving as you aim to avoid being killed by a headshot. If you cannot safely attack a Sniper from a distance, consider sneaking up on him and using a Combat Mini-Sentry Gun instead. |
Building Block Have a sentry shielded by the Wrangler absorb 500 damage without being destroyed. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: The Wrangler only reduces the damage that a Sentry Gun takes and does not increase its maximum health. Repair your Sentry Gun in between enemy attacks and haul it away if it might be destroyed. |
Built to Last Help a single building tank over 2000 damage without being destroyed. Difficulty: Hard How to obtain: Out of all of the Engineer's buildings, a Level 3 Sentry Gun is the best candidate to attempt this achievement with. Use it to hold contested areas and do not hesitate to haul it away if the situation becomes too dangerous. |
Circle the Wagons Repair 50,000 damage to friendly buildings constructed by other players. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: Help out your allied Engineers by repairing their buildings, especially when they are under fire. |
Death Metal Pick up 10,000 waste metal from pieces of destroyed buildings. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: When your buildings are destroyed, pick up the resulting debris to get a head start towards constructing them again. |
Deputized Get 10 assists with another Engineer where a sentry gun was involved in the kill. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: Coordinate with friendly Engineers to protect key areas or chokepoints. Do not hesitate to defend an ally's Sentry Gun by assisting with your Shotgun. |
Doc Holiday Have a dispenser heal three teammates at the same time. Difficulty: Very Easy How to obtain: Deploy a Dispenser at the front lines, where there are bound to be many injured teammates. |
Doc, Stock, and Barrel Repair a sentry gun under fire while being healed by a Medic. Difficulty: Very Easy How to obtain: This achievement coincides with Midwife Crisis, a corresponding achievement for the Medic. When you are repairing a Sentry Gun that is under fire, ask for a Medic to heal you to negate any residual damage. |
Drugstore Cowboy Have dispensers you created dispense a combined amount of 100,000 health over your career. Difficulty: Very Easy How to obtain: Frequently place Dispensers close to the front lines, where there are bound to be many injured teammates. Move your buildings up as your team moves forward. |
Fistful of Sappers Destroy 25 sappers on buildings built by other team members. Difficulty: Easy-Medium How to obtain: Guard friendly buildings from enemy Spies, especially if their owners are not nearby. |
Frontier Justice Have your sentry kill the enemy that just killed you within 10 seconds. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Enemies may occasionally target you instead of your Sentry Gun to prevent it from being repairs. After you are dead, hope your Sentry Gun can finish the job. |
Get Along! Manage to get to, and then remove, a sapper placed on your building while you were several meters away. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Many Spies cannot resist placing their Electro Sappers on an unattended building. Even if you are a fair distance away from your buildings, do your best to maneuver to them and remove the sappers. |
Honky Tonk Man Smash an enemy player's head in with your guitar. Difficulty: Medium-Hard How to obtain: Find an unaware enemy, such as a scoped Sniper, and perform the Frontier Justice's taunt on them. The process is slow and relatively quiet until the Engineer smashes the guitar. |
How the Pests Was Gunned Destroy 50 enemy stickybombs lying in range of friendly buildings. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Protect friendly buildings by using any of your weapons to remove nearby Stickybombs. |
If You Build It, They Will Die Haul a level 3 sentry gun into a position that achieves a kill shortly after being redeployed. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Construct a Level 3 Sentry Gun, then haul it to an area of conflict. Protect and repair the Sentry Gun as it is redeployed. |
Land Grab Help a teammate construct a building. Difficulty: Very Easy How to obtain: Help construct a friendly building by hitting it with your melee weapon. |
No Man's Land Use a sentry gun to kill 25 enemy players that are capturing a point. Difficulty: Easy-Medium How to obtain: Place your Sentry Gun in a position where it can cover multiple routes to the control point or Payload cart. Use the Wrangler to pick off any enemies that are out of range. |
(Not So) Lonely Are the Brave Keep a Heavy healed with your dispenser while he gains five kills. Difficulty: Medium-Hard How to obtain: This achievement partially coincides with Factory Worker, a corresponding achievement for the Heavy. Deploy your Dispenser near areas of conflict to allow the Heavy to remain near the front lines; the replenishment offered will turn him into a slightly more mobile Sentry Gun. |
Patent Protection Destroy an enemy Engineer's sentry gun with a sentry under control of your Wrangler. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: When on the offensive, haul your Sentry Gun into a position where you will easily be able to attack an enemy Engineer's Sentry Gun from a distance. Destroying a Combat Mini-Sentry will not count towards this achievement. There seems to a bug where the achievement cannot be obtained against bots even though most achievements can be obtained with bots on the server. |
Pownd on the Range Kill 10 enemies outside the normal sentry gun range using the Wrangler. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Deploy your Sentry Gun in a defensive position and use the Wrangler to defend the area from classes that attack from range, such as the Soldier or Sniper. |
Quick Draw Kill a Spy and two sappers within 10 seconds. Difficulty: Easy-Medium How to obtain: Kill the Spy first to prevent additional Electro Sappers from being placed. Afterward, focus on removing any sappers that are still around. Move quickly, as the achievement timer starts after the Spy or either sapper is eliminated. Removing both sappers will take approximately four seconds. |
Revengineering Use a revenge crit to kill the enemy player that destroyed your sentry gun. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Once your Sentry Gun is destroyed, target the perpetrator with your Revenge crits. |
Rio Grind Perform 50 repairs and/or reloads on a Sentry gun being Wrangled by another Engineer. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: Assist friendly Engineers that are using the Wrangler by repairing and reloading their Sentry Guns. |
Search Engine Kill 3 cloaked Spies with a sentry gun under control of your Wrangler. Difficulty: Hard How to obtain: If you see the shimmer of a Spy's cloak, use the Wrangler to manually scan the area and prevent him from escaping. A cloaked Spy that is on fire, bleeding, or coated with Mad Milk or Jarate is easily noticeable and will count towards the achievement. |
Silent Pardner Upgrade 50 buildings built by other team members. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: When a friendly Engineer has built a new building, help upgrade it if you have the metal to spare. |
Six-String Stinger Provide an enemy player with a freeze cam of your guitar playing skills. Difficulty: Very Easy How to obtain: Upon killing an enemy, taunt with the Frontier Justice equipped. |
Texas Ranger Haul buildings 1 km over your career. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: This achievement will naturally be obtained after a modest amount of time playing as the Engineer. Move your buildings around the battlefield in order to support your team. |
Texas Two-Step Use your shotgun to finish off an enemy recently damaged by your sentry gun. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Attack the same enemy that your Sentry Gun targets. Using revenge crits from the Frontier Justice can ensure that your Sentry Gun does not "steal" the kill. |
The Extinguished Gentleman Have dispensers you built extinguish 20 burning players. Difficulty: Very Easy How to obtain: Deploy a Dispenser at the front lines, where there are bound to be injured teammates. Unless there is a Medic nearby, burning teammates will probably flock to your Dispenser. |
The Wrench Connection Kill a disguised spy with your Wrench. Difficulty: Easy How to obtain: Spy-check suspicious teammates by hitting them with your Wrench. Using the Gunslinger, Southern Hospitality, or Jag will not count towards this achievement. |
Trade Secrets Kill 20 players carrying the intelligence. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Place your Sentry Gun along routes that Intelligence runners normally use to escape. If they manage to get past, chase after them using your Shotgun and Pistol. |
Uncivil Engineer Provide an enemy player with a freeze cam of you and the sentry that just killed them. Difficulty: Very Easy How to obtain: When your Sentry Gun kills an enemy, stand near it so that you are also in the freeze cam. |
Unforgiven Kill 3 enemies with revenge crits without dying. Difficulty: Medium How to obtain: Every time your Sentry Gun is destroyed and you have the Frontier Justice equipped, you will receive Revenge crits accordingly. This means that this task can be performed over the lifespan of multiple Sentry Guns. Play conservatively, only picking off enemies that wander too close. Do not try to go on a rampage, as the Engineer is still a frail class. |
